I'd take Tempo. Mizol apparently usually have telekinesis, but they're subtle.
Whereas Fireblade would probably knock the roulette ball through the floor or something.

Re: Page 97
The society the Loroi have seems to be a cross between Nazi Germany, Communist Russia, and the Sith empire. Sounds pretty much like the current US of A. scnr. :mrgreen: You over-estimate our organization, for the moment all we can agree on is to very thoroughly kill anyone who attacks us. ;) The Lo...

Re: Dark Matter == Anti-gravity == Anti-matter gravity?
It appears that I skipped explanatory steps repeatedly in my last post. What would the set of particles including protons, anti-protons, and any theoretical others (e.g. the various suggested 'negative matter' protons) be? The best I can think of is 'meta-protons', but I don't recall hearing of a 'm...

Re: Dark Matter == Anti-gravity == Anti-matter gravity?
Firstly: As for dark matter, antimatter isn't dark, it interacts quite happily through electromagnetic forces. Dark matter is also attractive (rather at odds with the idea that antimatter and matter repel), and has an attractive effect several times greater than the visible matter. For a moment I co...

I understand that the left-overs are used for various things. Protein for livestock feed, sugars for ethanol, etc.

Dark Matter == Anti-gravity == Anti-matter gravity?
Any thoughts on this ? I don't normally concern myself with higher-end physics (I don't expect to devise any valid theories since I'm not in the field, so it's mostly not worth the time), so does anyone know if this actually jives with the predictions of general relativity? I can certainly understan...

Re: Photo-Voltaic cells Silly use.
EVERYONE agrees algae seem a really great alternative, yet no one globally has ever made an economic way to turn algae into fuel. Why? Because of low energy density and high water content. By the time you dry them out you've used 90% of the energy profit you could get out of it, and the last 10% is...

Re: Photo-Voltaic cells Silly use.
There will eventually be algal sources, but those are still in R&D. There's switchgrass too, but that's still in R&D as well, and completing the work will make corn stalks a viable biofuel.

Re: Random Discussion on Weapon Systems
Neutral particle beams don't have to be neutrons though...you just neutralize the particles after accelerating them. Two accelerators, one for electrons and one for nuclei, and some work to make most of them recombine before hitting the enemy screens. And of course, the problem with accelerating ne...

Thought this thread was spam, too... :D That would have been it's own "special" kind of awesome :D . The only solution I can think of is to code a custom CAPTCHA for the site. Which I thought was a ridiculous idea before I said it out loud... hmmm... The only things I would worry about are copyrigh...

Re: CERN claims FTL neutrinos
Unless some fool was tapping directly into a GPS ground station, neither facility was sending ANYTHING to the GPS satellites: the number of ground stations is limited, used ONLY to keep the GPS system correctly oriented, and as far as I know send their signals to only the actual satellites. Thus, bo...

There are some exceptions, though. Hull plating (if carefully selected) could actually be used to build radar dishes. For most things horrible, sure, but once in a while there's an exception. Cooling systems are something completely different. Depending on the technologies & distances in play, cooli...

Fun fact: this subject almost ended in "bra". Well, looks like Jardin not shooting himself in the foot isn't something he saves for the presence of hot blue women, encouraging. Unfortunately, we know he did something, and probably aboard the Bellarmine. As he starts to settle in, then we'll probably...

Well, the weapons may be antiquated, the armor may be weak, the shields may be non-existent, but it looks like the America-class can receive Loroi drives with little to no trouble! Mostly because it looks like the ones it has were added as an after-thought. If the Loroi eventually need a few planeta...

Rational races won't seriously consider the "von Neuman's locusts gambit", because the consequences of a failure (you lose the secret of the IFF, someone else gets the secret of the IFF, the locusts lose the secret of the IFF) are all bad enough that you want the locusts close enough that you can mo...

You know, thinking about it, non-combat ships (transports, etc.) could possibly even use shuttles as observation decks.

If CERN found the Higgs...
... then what does it mean?
I've heard that the Standard Model doesn't work with a Higgs mass in the 116-130 GeV / 115-127 GeV range that the current results allow for (assuming that the current results actually detected Higgs bosons, of course). Is there any credence to this claim?
