Re: Page 87
I would just like to point out that since the Loroi and most other aliens developed their tech at such comparatively slow paces (except possibly Historians) that maybe what the Loroi consider to be fast or slow development to be very different from us. As in their expectations would be that we will ...

Re: Random Discussion on Weapon Systems
My first exposure to Macross was the one with the crazy A.I. idol going crazy and snagging that heroine chick in electric wire bondage.
Anyways culture as a weapon, eh? Ranged Foot Massage anyone?

Re: Page 86
The question on my mind is will Alex stay off to the side or be singled out to speak to the alien, afterall the Lorei would be very interested in his reactions to the Umiak establishing communications out of the blue like this. Considering their paranoia of Alex being an UMIAK SPY!!!

Re: TRON Tech and How It Would Effect Civilization
There is also a bizarre inconsistancy with the main antagonist in the first film, specifically that it was an independant entity inside the digital world even though it's mainly comprised of seperate interlinked computer towers with their own seperate programming. How does that work? @manticore7: I ...

Well balls.
At this rate Alex is never going to get the chance to see the Loroi's giant laser beam's beutiful hue. Or teach Beryl english for that matter.

Re: TRON Tech and How It Would Effect Civilization
@Arioch: I didn't think it would be the penultimate superscience, I knew it would be a big deal but not that big of a deal. And the big plans Encom had with this tech was essentially bandwidth exploitation, and Flynn's plan was Second Life 2.0. They've struck gold and don't even realise it. Atleast ...

TRON Tech and How It Would Effect Civilization
Alright so TRON, to summarise in this franchise Encom created a device that transports people to and fro from a programmed world. Here is the thing though, MCP didn’t import Flynn’s mind or anything it digitized him! So Encom essentially made a matter-energy converter. Then in Legacy it is made clea...

Re: Imagining realistic energy weapons
2bunnyboy: That is overkill. In general I realised you could make a laser look like a typical camera, or a flashlight. I am uneasy around cameras enough as it is, the idea that some guy asking to take your picture could actually be pointing a deadly weapon at you and you'd be none the wiser is a who...

Re: Imagining realistic energy weapons
Wouldn't the size of a beam weapon weilded by a person be, at the minimum, the size of an antipersonal weapon (like an M-60) or am I being too generous and it would have to be bigger? I don't really know much about beam weapons but thats just what i'm extrapolating based on what i've skimmed through...
