Re: What does YOUR Name Mean?

Ironically your signed name is the closest equivalent we have to a spoken Loroi name on this forum.

Re: MoO II races and their parallels in Outsider

The Nibirien are actually clearly the blue 'natives' of MoO2. I think *that* is pretty unambigious. And come on, the Pipolsid are clearly more inspired by Trilarians than Psilons. Peaceful aquatic beings with unique capabilities in propulsion is basically the Trilarians to a 'T'. This was discussed...

Re: MoO II races and their parallels in Outsider

My suspicion is that the Neridi (diminuative traders and administrators) are actually the *Gnolams*, while the Historians (four-armed highly advanced race) are the Psilons. An offhand comment somewhere suggested that the Meklar eventually mutated in concept to the Mannadi, although the similarity b...

Re: Miscellaneous Loroi question-and-answer thread

Such statistics as I have are listed in the particle beam weapon table alongside the other combatants' versions here: http://well-of-souls.com/outsider/weapon_profiles.html#particle_beams It's a large weapon that does superior damage to the Loroi/Delrias heavy version at short range, but is ineffec...

Re: What does YOUR Name Mean?

My first name means Either "God has lifted" or "God establishes" My second name mean "Honored" My third middle name means either "Staff of the gods/ Gods staff" or if we believe the theory that its root is in another language family then it could mean "honored guest" And lastly my surname simply mea...

Re: Pages 144, 145: Conserve Energy

It might be a little to soon to have Jardin save the day. I think we'll have to wait a bit and watch the ladies do their thing. Fireblade just strikes me as being tired of the whole situation. It's not personal towards Jardin or anything. She's just tired of the whole war and seems to wanna be left ...

Re: Miscellaneous Loroi question-and-answer thread

Farms were certainly a business and if you owned your own land you were also expected to be conscriptet and fight in wars which is another reason serfdom became more prevalent in the middle ages as poorer peasants agreed to it to avoid conscription and certain taxes. Peasants didn't own the land, t...

Re: Miscellaneous Loroi question-and-answer thread

rStL7niR7gs Speaking of corruption and bribery. Isn't telepathy a natural deterrant towards such behaviour? A Loroi ruler need not worry about loyalty from her peers (as much as a human would) as they would be very open about their position to begin with. This could actually create a much more bene...

Re: Miscellaneous Loroi question-and-answer thread

Loroi civilian females can own and run large businesses, so I'd say they have a higher status than most European peasant women of the medieval period, as the latter couldn't own or inherit property independently of their husbands in most cases. They most likely have higher status than any european ...

Re: Miscellaneous Loroi question-and-answer thread

So, basically, the Loroi Civilian Caste was the same thing as the peasant women in the Medieval Age (farmers, tailors and midwives). I got the same feeling but to be fair peasant women would probably enjoy higher status than loroi civillians. Having a more important social role overall. Loroi civil...
