Re: Page 85
I did little research . Difference of 3 generation means this much! Vacuum tubes (1940-1956) , Transistors (1956-1963) , Integrated Circuits (1964-1971) , Microprosessors (1971-Present) That makes it four. :P Well, at the dawn of each new generation the already existing and well-developed preceding...

Re: Page 85
Edit As for development system, any new innovations comes a slowly to excistence, then they have fast booming and after that development is slover. That´s correct. As for cars, the fast phase was around 1940-1960 . Any new model has some new innovation which has huge effect, like first car with bra...

Re: Page 85
Realistic is realistic. A webcomic story is a webcomic story. The two are only related if the writer makes it so, and currently Outsider does not appear to be realistic at all... The patterns and models behind Outsider are well thought and balanced. Which fortunately makes it positively very differ...

Re: WIP Discussion (Part 1!)
Long charging time, heating issues, and leaves the firing ship dead in the water for short period of time after discharging IIRC.Wintermute wrote:Out of curiosity, The Insider Loroi Ships page describes the Wave Loom device as "problematic." Why is that? I recall this being covered before, but I forget the answer.

Re: WIP Discussion (Part 1!)
The vessel depicted is a ~600m TT-style superheavy, not the monstrous ~2km ultraheavy. IF the Loroi use their wave-loom on this one, i´m curious about the tactics. Considering the drawbacks of this technology, i´m pretty sure they can´t sit and wait for it getting charged. So maybe they accelerate ...

Re: WIP Discussion (Part 1!)
Looks more like a command cruiser, though the silhouette is still off. Better guess than mine. It would also ruin the suspense to show this beasts so early into the plot. Based on the concept art I'd have said its a TT Superheavy, whilst the silhouettes are only representative they are also the one...

Re: Page 85
The reason why I saying this is that, your example with the ME262 above is an example of a plane that could be built by any of the major combatants during WWII. But could the same to done with say, sending a F-22 back in time to 1940 Europe. I'm sure they could use it, but trying to Build more, WIL...

Re: Page 85
Given a working Umiak or Loroi ship, Terran ships would in short order start incorporating technogly from the alien ship in a relative short time a couple of years at most. Could they create it at a quality equal to the orginal. HIGHLY UNLIKELY. Leave it to us... 8-) Well After the use of Japans mi...

Re: Page 85
Not the best Idea to use The Technogly Industry as a example when it has shown consistantly over the last 40 years that no new advancements made by one company no matter how revoloutianry wont in some way be copied by the others, and done so rather rapidly. That whole thing is a cultural problem, t...

Re: Page 85
Humans are already at a level that it took the Loroi a thousand or so years of space travel to reach, and that is with them also having access to the population of 3 entire worlds from the near start of FTL travel, and ancient artifacts of a advanced civilization on there worlds to help them along....

Re: Page 85
Also, anyone get a nagging feeling that humanity is a Historian experiment? Either that, or they just used us as archetype. I tend to the latter, because the loroi are more artificial and capable. The Soia just adopted the general layout, und "filled" it with their biotech. (Or it´s vice versa, and...

Re: Page 85
Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it. "George Santayana" "All this has happened before. All this will happen again." -- Pythia ;) True that. And surely both our cultures will benefit from each other on many fields. It is only that the Loroi have PRESSING problems, so action...

Never heard of that. Unlikely also. And besides: Which of the trillion versions of this book of fairytales? ;) That's uncalled for. The man was simply making an observation Whatever. urring World War 1 a british General by the name of Allenby outflanked the Ottomans at the town of Michmash by using a secret path around the town, He found the path by reading an account in the bible which is among other things a historical document. Never heard of that. Unlikely also. And besides...

Re: Page 85
The only things valuable for the loroi are our resources Our biological data and our cultural history will be relevant to their interests, and if there are any Soia interactions in our species history. I'm sure their curiosity is just as strong as ours. Their prime concern is avoiding annihilation....
