Re: Cloning?
At the moment the Loroi are assuming that the Umiak are using some sort of cloning method as the only means of keeping up with losses. The Loroi don't because they don't need to, unless you clone a fully grown and trained adult their ACTUAL reproductive system is pretty close in efficiency, and a cl...

Re: Physiological/psychological effects on Ship Design.
I was going to post more, but at this point I think it's pretty clear that we're dealing with two separate versions of reality and there's not much point in continuing, and I honestly don't care enough about this to bother.

Alright, so this thread has officially run off the rails and into the ditch, right? We're not even pretending any more, is that it? How long have you been here? Go back to the old forum and read the page threads, there's 2 types, the ones that ended after 2-3 pages and the ones that spawned 30 page...

Re: Physiological/psychological effects on Ship Design.
You can have both. Sure, but it's a lot more expensive and rarely worthwhile. If the shit hits the fan I'd rather have me and 3 buddies with $1000 guns than just me with a $4000 gun. In the context of our discussion here you have your choices pre-made for you, you don't get to mix-and-match parts t...

Re: two questions about the Loroi Military
Final question, how physically/mentally taxing are telekinetic attacks? Are they relatively easy for practitioners to perform, does each attack become more difficult to perform as the number of attacks increase or do they have the same cost each time? (For example: is the cost of the same action al...

Re: Physiological/psychological effects on Ship Design.
Performance > Craftsmanship It's great that you have a gun that's perfectly assembled and lovingly and intricately detailed. But it's still shooting .22 shorts, and my Khyber Pass AK is still going to win the fight. Don't get me wrong though, if I'm going to hang a gun on my wall I'll be hanging one...

Re: Physiological/psychological effects on Ship Design.
Ok...so who has the slightest clue then?... Aside from the ubermensch that is you, of course? Whichever one says that the Bismarck is the best ship ever of course. To be fair I was reading some other threads on the subject and that site was mentioned as less than reputable, by people who agreed tha...

Re: Page 86
I fear that the Assassin can't fire on the Farseer because he is in lust with her far out-of-scale hooters. [ahem] You know nothing of Eldar physiology, breast size equates to psychic potential in females since their breasts serve as collecting point for psychic energy. I'm fairly certain that in t...

Re: Flameware Galore!!
Not our fault that the German surface navy had already been sunk by the time we joined the war. ;) OR that the Japanese Navy couldn't field anything worth shooting at after the Iowa's came out. The exception of course being the Yamato-class, but the damn Navy pilots wouldn't let the Iowa class have...

Re: Flameware Galore!!
So? How much would have been Mk 7´s rate of fire under the same circumstances? Somewhat lower most likely, but a smaller difference than theoretical max vs theoretical max. And how precise would the shots have been? You're the only person I've seen ever make the claim that their precision wouldn't ...

Re: Physiological/psychological effects on Ship Design.
Come on, this is cheap. 8-) I was reading the wiki about the Bismarck and it mentioned that the sustained rate of fire observed at Denmark Strait was 1 shot per minute. Edit: I just looked it up: Armoured Belt: Iowa 307mm, Bismarck 320mm (up to 370mm RHA-equivalent). 370>307. You're comparing RHA-e...

Re: Physiological/psychological effects on Ship Design.
No, you miss the point: 9 vs 8 only counts if can bring all cannons to bear. That much is obvious. How often would that not be the case? The Iowas turrets had a roughly 300 degree field of fire and rate of fire: 3,125/min for the SK34, only 2 for the Mark 7. Makes it 25 to 18. Your call. ;) My call...

Re: Physiological/psychological effects on Ship Design.
...depending on direction. ? The Iowa has 9 guns the Bismarck has 8, I suppose you could argue that the Bismarck has one extra gun pointing backwards but that's a pretty thin argument to make. Quantity vs. Quality. ;) British 16" shells weren´t able to pierce Bismarcks citadel even on point-blank-r...

Re: Physiological/psychological effects on Ship Design.
I´m pretty sure the japanese surrender would have been signed on another ship after that... Iowa class has more and bigger main guns and thicker armor, additionally there's a very good chance that their fire-control system was superior (it was vastly superior to the Japanese fire-control ...

Re: Armor values
then simply Terran ships would be protected agasint Terran weapons and railguns seem to be there main weapon and the armor wouldnt work. An America-class cruiser could cripple the Cry Of The Wind with a single salvo if it was close enough. Chances are good that an America-class cruiser could fuck u...

could be, i never envisaged that option. That could explain why they are just drifting. Nah, they're drifting because aren't yet ready to attack. Like the Umiak? Like some of the Barsam, note Mozin's reaction to Alex's appearance, Mozin isn't a fan of the Loroi. Most of the loroi propaganda is abou...
