Would have been nice if they had said whether they were just talking about loose electrons, or actual photons being pushed back.

Re: P A G E 1 1 3
If Spiral had been more fluent in the trade language i assume her reply would be something akin to "There were signs of asphyxiation and severe haemorrhage. Under such conditions he must have deemed his survival changes to be low. " ...That sounds more like a med-tech than a pilot. ... Right you ar...

02-03-2016 (23:00) Read through the comic a second time. Haven't really looked around the other parts of the site yet. Now what is that "Insider" page subtitled Extra's? A few extra sketches perhaps? Out of curiosity, did you ever read the archives of the old forums? If Spiral had been more fluent ...

Re: Space Warfare
I'm specifically wondering if it should use ship diameter or ship radius, and if exp() or similar should be involved (still poking a little at that old 4x forum idea). Effective crossection area should be used. I should have typed that out better. In the "(speed*delay + ship size - attack size)/shi...

Re: The "Real Aerospace" Thread
Was this one of the ones that got pitched at that luxury goods convention, recently? I heard that there was both a "consumer" company, and a high-end company showing the things off. For my money, the tipping point with flying cars will be "pegasus AI" to rationalize the driver's input, basically as ...

Re: Space Warfare
Has anyone nailed down a hit-chance formula that considers ship diameter (assume a sphere!), weapon diameter, ship speed, and detect/impact delay? I'm specifically wondering if it should use ship diameter or ship radius, and if exp() or similar should be involved (still poking a little at that old 4...

Yeah, I've read a bit about the 7 planet-system TRAPPIST-1 (anyone in for a beer? Westmalle, or Chimay?). Imagine standing on one of those planets, and watch another planet pass by and being able to see the clouds, and possibly even landmark features on the other planet by naked eye. Anyway, with p...

Re: Miscellaneous Loroi question-and-answer thread
Then add the occasional drought or similar, and realize that you can make it even worse: as the Australian Rat Plagues demonstrate, a sufficiently extended period of plenty can result in a significantly larger than normal population, and then swing you below the average carrying capacity, thereby in...

If there isn't space or infrastructure, would they just do the relaxation in a larger-than-strictly-nessessary-for-cleansing shower, then? If there is room for a large shower, there is room for a small tub. Sure, but there may not be room for a small tub and a small shower, yanno? The shuttle they'...

Re: Artificial Intelligence
From what I've read in the forums, it seems to be generally accepted that Artificial Intelligence is not heavily utilized by either side of the war because, while it is a potential to be a powerful technology, both sides fear it will backfire and harm them. Actually, Arioch has basically said that ...

Re: WIP Discussion (Part 1!)
I am unsure how to feel about being used by Arioch in such ways.... slightly more seriously, some fire and blunting by time it would be rather safe to carry a 'knife' in such a way during normal tasks, at this time trying to use it as a knife would be a non-trivial restoration project. True, while ...

I recall at least one 2 year pause. He always puts out new pages afterwards.
Recently he's been doing art for a game, so he hasn't had a lot of free time. If you croll down a bit, you'll see that he recently posted to the perma-locked WIPS thread, so it looks like his schedule has opened up a bit.

Re: Hyperspace
After all, the observable universe is limitless but still finite - its curvature would lead anything back to its origin if it flies a straight line for long enough. As I understand, the universe doesn't loop back within it's observable bounds, so that's just a suspicion rather than a observed fact....
