Re: Chapter 2 cover
If anything, there's going to be THAT guy, who never liked how small a hassle encrypting, or password protecting his handheld device is, and of course, by murphy's law, it'll be loaded with elf porn, and things even more perverse. As for movies quite likely to be on the Bell, I'd go with 2001: A Sp...

Re: Page 91
I guess we'll find out if Alex (and humans in general) have a lotai once Strike Group 51 jumps out of the Naam system. The Umiak telepathy inhibitor (or whatever the device is called) shouldn't then be effective anymore. If the Umiak "countermeasure" was responsible for their inability to detect a ...

Re: Couple questions
For example, they now have a brain implant that can be used to restore hearing for a deaf person (the sound is recorded and converted into neural signals via the implant), but being able to use it requires months or even years of intense therapy, and even then it is not always successful. And these...

Re: Concept Fanart of Future Terran Ship Designs
If I were the Loroi, I'd be very alarmed that a species that was naturally immune to Loroi telepathy and farseeing was advancing so quickly. After the sense of superiority they possessed prior to the war was so soundly crushed, I wouldn't be taking any chances with other possible threats. Question:...

Doesn't Beryl's character sheet have her with a trait that has her extra curious of xenos?
Is that official?

Re: Page 90
A lot of martial arts are very practical, jiu jitsu, muay thai, and boxing in particular. Mixed martial arts certainly has done a lot to weed out the ones that are "showy," like capoeira and a lot of karate forms. Its actually been speculated that martial arts has advanced more in the past 20 years ...

Re: Concept Fanart of Future Terran Ship Designs
The Loroi launched their first artificial satellite in 475CE , meaning it took 1685 years to reach current levels compared to humanities 203 at the launch of Sputnik. The Terrans are currently at the same tech level the Loroi were at about 800 years ago * , meaning 900 years of Loroi advancement in...

Re: Page 91
Do we have confirmation that Loroi can read human minds through cloth? Or does it have to be through direct skin to skin contact by several powerful telepathic Loroi? Every indication is that they are unable to read him. However it's also possible that the attempt got cut off early as we don't know...

Re: Concept Fanart of Future Terran Ship Designs
Given the HUGE amount of time the Loroi had to reach the current level of tech, I'd expect the Terrans to easily reach Loroi levels within Alex's lifetime, and that's without Loroi ad. The Loroi launched their first artificial satellite in 475CE , meaning it took 1685 years to reach current levels c...

Re: WIP Discussion (Part 1!)
This territorial mix up might be because Beryl asked Alex early on if human males were territorial. Her asking that could mean that Loroi males could be territorial, however.

Re: Stillstorm laughed...
There is a potential additional option. That option being that the farseeing is being jammed, and the Umiak have noticed this fact by watching the presumably unusual Loroi actions in this system, but the Umiak themselves are not responsible. Thus by lying Kliktik potentially scares useful informati...

Re: Stillstorm laughed...
Again...a HUGE gamble on Kliktiks part. He's abandoning a vastly superior tactical position for this. Why? He's in position to wipe out 51st task force, and the famed Stillstorm. In a war of annihilation (at least the Loroi call it so), deliberately sabotaging this opportunity is folly. So WHY? And...

Here's a question: What are Loroi cities like? Are they dense metropolis's like New York or Shanghai? Do they have the same "concrete jungles" that we do?

Re: Automated torpedo defense
I'd think having multiple missiles jammed into a drone would be a disadvantage compared to a normal salvo. It would just provide the enemy the chance to take out multiple missiles with one shot. With all that mass of propulsion systems and the missiles, the drones would be pretty sluggish without mu...

Although, it would be nice to have someplace to categorize and store the tidbits of information that Arioch shares on the forums. Other then that .txt file that happens to float up every once in a while.

I would think that a lower body temperature would give them a harder time in warmer (tropical or desert) environments. A lower body temperature means that would have to shed heat more quickly, which means they might become exhausted or dehydrated more quickly then humans. Take Alex's experience for ...

Re: Uncanny resemblance.
Yes, the portrayal of humanity as knuckle-dragging incompetents who can't govern themselves is one of the unsavory narrative strategies I was referring to that is used to justify the Abh conquests. I had always thought that the Aph motivation was to eliminate war by controlling the star lanes (at l...
