Re: WIP Discussion (Part 1!)
The size of the shuttle is already established, and there's a limit to how cramped things can get, because like a movie set, I have to fit cameras in there. As it is, some sections will have to built to be removable to better facilitate camera placement. The Highland doesn't have jump drives, so it...

Re: WIP Discussion (Part 1!)
What kind of aesthetic are you going for? Same as the Loroi capital ships or something a bit more cramped? What duration is it meant for (orbital, inter-planetary, or inter-stellar)? The Space Shuttle may be a good place to look for this sort of stuff, being a real-life craft with a similar role. If...

Re: Anti-gravity
There is no stealth in space. The only thing you can do is not be in the spot they are looking. The field of view gets narrower the farther out you are, but at any combat range, it is still damn wide.

Re: Miscellaneous Loroi question-and-answer thread
The Loroi had large reserves of military personnel during peacetime; for every warrior standing on the deck of an actual starship there were probably two or three more at desk jobs training and competing for the opportunity to take her place. Once that pool was exhausted, they would use warriors re...

Which is what I wrote only with displacement instead of position.Arioch wrote: In that case, just use:
S = ½at² + vt
where v is initial velocity.
One may be slightly more efficient than the other in some situations, but only slightly.

Re: Miscellaneous Loroi question-and-answer thread
OMG! You're certainly brighter than I! Thank you, this helps A LOT! Now I'm trying to think of how I could possibly commit this to memory... I don't think I'm that bright... but I can do the math! Thank you! No problem. What you did in the post you ninjaed me with was almost right, you just forgot ...

Could you post your formulas for the calculations or PM them to me? I'd really like to know how it is calculated... so I can do it on my own... :) ...And Thank you! It is some basic physics. This is not taking into account any Einsteinian time-dilation relativity nastiness, but it is a good approxi...

Re: Miscellaneous Loroi question-and-answer thread
Two questions. First, where did the Loroi get replacements from for the first decade of the war? Our conventional method of training civilians doesn't seem socially acceptable for them. Second, the Loroi rank structure is lacking something very important: enlisted rank equivalents. Unless officers a...

Heck, I'll join if there's room. I'll take the Chief Engineer slot on the human side, though I think I would prefer playing a subordinate engineer.

Re: Page 100
Most likely they will be getting replacements upon resupply or sending people that can be replaced out of what they have with Alex. So, assuming that Beryl, Fireblade, and the two Marines I can't be bothered to remember the names of are being sent with him, I find the amount of stuff they have packe...

Re: Sustainable Systems and Nuclear Energy
Anyway, the sun is a terrible option. Use the moon instead, much less energy to get there. Added bonus of it being just a rock instead of eventually radiating it all back to us.
Dig a hole and dump it in is still the best option though.

The Zora, from The Legend of Zelda.
Unggoy (Grunts) from Halo.
"Greys" from various works and Conspiracy theories as an honorable mention, as they can edge into blue.
Drazi from Babylon 5.
Salarians from Mass Effect can be blue.
