Thinking along the same lines. And I'm quite undecided whether Alex's expression in the last panel translates to "WTF?" or "*gulp*".... Both would fit quite well.

Re: Page 159: Bedroom Eyes

But, when it comes to 'Bedroom eyes', Spiral is definitely not the first one. Far by not.

Re: Page 159: Bedroom Eyes

If Tempo wanted Alex to quietly disappear, then publicly granting him diplomatic status, and making a point of doing it in front of allied witnesses, doesn't make much sense. If Stillstorm wanted Alex to disappear, entrusting this task to the very person whose actions have been working against this...

Re: Page 159: Bedroom Eyes

Thing is, there already seems to be something fishy going on. It could very much be that Tempo went along for the ride to make sure that Alex would disappear or have some accident on the way - or to pass on special orders to the captain of the Clearbrook if everything would have gone to plan. But, t...

Re: Page 159: Bedroom Eyes

They could leave that job to the Umiak to finish - however there would still be plenty of other witnesses left in Strikegroup 51 that would have to forget the costly fight over the wreck of the Bellarmine in the Naam-system. They just saw a wreck of alien make, and wouldn't even know about its intr...

Re: Page 159: Bedroom Eyes

If I were to hazard a guess, can he stay rational or will he be another emotional rutting male? Most of the crew have seen him, but few actually know him. These are basically every Loroi we know of other than Stillstorm who have ever spoken to or interacted with Alex. I've already mentioned this in...

Re: Page 159: Bedroom Eyes

It's a slow tumble, enough to give a sense of direction, but still low enough to float for quite some distance. Beryl did sit down quite comfortably, and the items (including the projector can) didn't float around freely, but I do think an involuntary movement in sleep could send someone spinning, u...

Re: Page 159: Bedroom Eyes

Interesting how, in the first panel, everyone minus Cloud is looking at Alex. Would not be surprised if they were all talking about him before entering. Not everyone. Tempo really tries to stay out of Alex's sight when she was sending to Beryl. Even more reason to think that she has a nefarious 'ma...

Re: Page 159: Bedroom Eyes

Hmm.. and again we have Tempo doing her "I/ME" underlining gesture. In all seriousness, I do wonder what they are talking about, what is it that she believes she should be doing instead of Beryl... No, I'm not thinking about *that* Judging from Tempo's expression, I'd wager it is something st...

Re: Page 159: Bedroom Eyes

Spiral is promptly abusing that the lack of shading makes her hair the only one standing out. I mean, look at Cockscomblade and Tempo has turned into the silent girl nobody talks to. Though, Tempo definitely looks like she's handing out some last instructions. If these ladies have some agenda with ...

Re: Page 158 : All Fire and Green eyes

Since the "Pocket Historian" identifies itself as "this construct" and the projection on the Tempest laments about its limitations I'm pretty sure they do act as separate entities and might just need short bursts of communication to sync up rather than having a full remote control connection. Meanin...

Re: Page 158 : All Fire and Green eyes

I had a good laugh imagining her actions in the elevator as the telekinetic equivalent of a little boy pulling a girls pigtails because he can't express his feelings well. Gods help Alex if that's the case. Now there's a thought that didn't cross my mind but could be disturbingly close to the...

Re: Page 158 : All Fire and Green eyes

I'm pretty sure the next pages are important as they'd show us on which side individual Loroi stand. Here's my take on this... Stillstorm: Pretty clear - whatever she had in mind would have been no good for Alex's health and maybe continued breathing. So much that even Fireblade urged him to get out...

Re: Page 158 : All Fire and Green eyes

I'm not sure about Talon; she may have a too easygoing attitude to pull off the villain role in the drama, but Tempo... she could definitely be the part of the stereotypical female interrogation officer using all means at her disposal in service of the evil empire. Fireblade on the other hand... We ...

Re: Page 158 : All fire and Green eyes

Makes me wonder. Of all the Loroi, Fireblade would have fewest reasons to busy herself with Alex. Fewer than Beryl, Tempo and maybe Talon for sure. Other than just floating there with a menacing air around herself as a silent reminder what happens if Alex makes the proverbial step out of line. Thoug...

Re: Page 157: "This is not MY datapad!"

If it's true that the Loroi don't know about power-off intrusion, then the Historian just let slip a major secret of theirs. It can not guarantee Alex won't spill that knowledge to his "captors". If they know about it, the Loroi presumably have some way of negating or mitigating its effectiveness. ...

Re: Page 157: "This is not MY datapad!"

Is it just me or is there anyone else thinking that Beryl has been uncharacteristically rude with simply picking the pad straight out of Alex's hands? Especially since his expression tells us that the construct didn't hide itself (yet) at that point. Of course, with Beryl not knowing of the device's...

Re: Page 157: "This is not MY datapad!"

"That isn't my datapad", just following the time honored line of "This isn't what it looks like." And of course the construct had listened in to their earlier words about "nakedness taboos" - maybe it wasn't just its sense of humor, but aimed to be a good diversion once Beryl deciphers the meaning o...

Re: Page 157: "This is not MY datapad!"

And I'm pretty sure that the construct is well aware of its surroundings and would display appropiately inappropiate pictures when Beryl fiddles around with that device. Wouldn't surprise me if said pictures would indeed include blue pointy-eared ladies. Quirky sense of humor, indeed.

Re: Page 157: "This is not MY datapad!"

Porn. But with the grey alien face as an icon? Takes "exotic" to a whole new level. Quirky sense of humor indeed. And makes me wonder how many dots Beryl was able to connect. Like the meaning of the 'program's name, and the significance of that icon's design in contemporary human culture. By the loo...
