Re: What is better not offer to Loroi
You mentioned communication capability. Yes, that's very important in war. But there's a problem here. Loroi cannot turn it off . A race of similar technology level to the Soia-Liron could probably make a creature capable of recieving the thoughts being sent, or possibly (since psi-amp tech exists)...

Re: What is better not offer to Loroi
Yeah, vocabulary fubar from a non-English speaker  As the prophet of FBT I am going to flagelate myself in shame :P Still an efficient metabolism does not necessarily equal the same muscle mass buildup and performance during physical activities. The parallel between an efficient engine and a h...

Re: What is better not offer to Loroi
Without knowing how the Loroi digestive system works the chocolate angle is a little far fetched. Loroi do indeed have a lower metabolism (at least in their adult life since their fast growth spurt means that there is a high metabolic period during their childhood) but we can't know if they digest f...

Re: Speculation: What can Humaniti offer the Loroi?
The Nimitz Class had an increase in tonnage mainly due to the HUGE nuclear reactors, which later proved themselves inadequate to support the electricity demands of the new electronic systems that were incorporated. The Ford class has smaller, lighter reactors that produce far more power (3 times mor...

Re: Is Outsider still an active project, or is it over?
I'll post it here first: I'm going to delay the Outsider relaunch for one week. I just couldn't make enough free time with the beta launch pressure for Stars in Shadow . Sorry for the delay! As self appointed Commissar the Holy Prophet of the Fireblade, Baryl and Tempo fan club (henceforth referenc...

Re: Miscellaneous Loroi question-and-answer thread
So in general the Loroi are Over Powered and the only ones more OP than them are the Orks from 40K? Since the Umiak reproduce artificially at essentially any rate they choose, I don't think so. Where is the 'fun' in that? ;) Not that I really understand what is meant by "overpowered" in the context...

Re: Miscellaneous Loroi question-and-answer thread
Total war on an interstellar scale would be putting -all- combat capable adults into the battlefield and keeping the rest back for making equipment for the war. You don't segregate half your population just for reproduction purposes. Women are just as capable of fighting in starships as men, so the...

Re: Miscellaneous Loroi question-and-answer thread
That's why I said it's a Total War, full mobilization with nothing and no one allowed to deviate from the plan (which means that men are expendable and expected to die by the droves to keep child bearing women safe), also forgot to add that this is a completely theoretical exercise, taking for grant...

Re: Miscellaneous Loroi question-and-answer thread
So I have been thinking about this since reading the comic for the first time, about a week or so. I am certain that this discussion has been had before but hear me out on this one. Human vs Loroi reproduction in a total war EDIT: Clarification, this takes into account complete mobilization with no ...

Re: Miscellaneous Loroi question-and-answer thread
Perhaps this has been asked before but going through 53 pages is a drag :P The 'it doesn't look like a warrior' line from Stillstorm made me a little curious as to what the Loroi define as warrior like appearance. In general humans see people who have a well muscled body to be very 'warrior like' an...

Re: Miscellaneous Terran question-and-answer thread
hi hi Much as I love Babylon 5, their space craft design was highly derivative. The station itself was practically copied straight out of Spacecraft; 2000 to 2100 AD , of the Terran Trade Authority series. I suspect they weren't thinking too terribly hard about those kinds of design decisions. Tigh...

Re: Miscellaneous Terran question-and-answer thread
Will it be the usual 'bridge at the front' design and with relatively open interior spaces or will you go with a more pragmatic approach, copying the CIC of modern warships and turning it into a full fledged bridge in an armored compartment deep into the hull? Will Terran ships be like the Loroi's ...

Re: Miscellaneous Terran question-and-answer thread
What's the internal design philosophy you will follow for Terran warships whenever you bring them into the story? Will it be the usual 'bridge at the front' design and with relatively open interior spaces or will you go with a more pragmatic approach, copying the CIC of modern warships and turning i...

Re: Reading Loroi Expressions and Cold reading the Loroi
The Loroi are a visual people and body language is an important element of communication to them, as it is to us. It's often redundant with telepathic communication, but it's also largely redundant with spoken communication, and that doesn't stop some humans from "talking with their hands." The Lor...

Glanced through the thread, how come no one mentioned Homeworld 2 with the Complex mod?
It's a different game and a far better one at that.

Reading Loroi Expressions and Cold reading the Loroi
Now, this is both an observation and a lead in to a couple of questions towards Arioch. The greatest comic artists have a saying: Don't tell when you can show. I have to say that the comic does a great deal of showing. Let's start with the beginning of of Chapter 1 where Alex wakes up screaming at p...

Re: Speculation: What can Humaniti offer the Loroi?
Hello, I stumbled on the comic yesterday and I was pleasantly surprised. Great artwork and story, well done Arioch but don't let this get to your head :P Now as to what can Humanity offer the Loroi... The real question here is what have the Umiaks done in order to blind the Loroi Farseers and if the...
