Congratulations, Jim! Alex made a cameo appearance as a spellcaster in Rob Balder's Erfworld comic. As a fan, I hope the exposure benefits you both.

I saw that, and immediately came here to see if there was a thread about it. Hilarous lines for Alex.

Nice! Some promotion for Outsider is always good. More readers!

Why did I not think of this question?

What kind of caster do you think Alexander is in Erfworld?

I fear we'll never know...

Of the 24 possible magic disciplines, Alex may qualify as:
Mathamancer - he's a smart cookie and has a good grasp of the odds in a tactical situation
Rhyme-o-mancer - "Now it's time to say goodbye..."
Shockamancer - pew pew (maybe not, he hasn't used a blaster yet, and anyway that would be an item not a natural ability)

And he's holding something in his hand, which presumably causes the blast...

I am here from the cameo, so it got at least one new viewer.

Page 94 http://well-of-souls.com/outsider/outsider094.html establishes him as a skilled tactician, and in some sense, he is the Parson of this world.

He is cut off from home -- his resupply / contact ship will have written him off as lost.
He is representing the entire stupid world, err, humaniti, people.

The big difference? He's actively looking for diplomatic encounters. He knows his skill with planning / wargames (much like Parson) won't work (unlike Parson).

... A skilled gamer having to play diplomat, the very thing that Parson failed at (see all the discussions over there about the disaster that the Magic Kingdom has become for them)
