Also Bandai Visual put up the first 20 minutes of the in-universe style documentary film for Yamato 2202.

This part details the backstory of Humanity from 1969 to 2199

Watched the film. Essentially a documentary about what happened to Earth and Yamato through the end of the year 2203. Most of the new footage is at the beginning with the background history of Earth until 2199. There are a few other new scenes, most just the interview with Sanada. There are a few new graphics for the battles, usually in the form of maps of unit positions.

But there is something very important added to this film. Dates. While dates in Yamato 2199 could be derived from the "x days left" at the teaser for the next episode, there were hardly any dates for Yamato 2202. Now there are. The story more or less takes place between December 2nd, 2202 and June 2nd, 2203, with the last episode taking place during December of 2203 (the last shot in the story being on December 31st, 2203).

Aside from Yamato 2205 being only two Parts (eight episodes total) doing a remake of the "A New Voyage" storyline, there has been announced a new project/sequel series called Be Forever Yamato: Rebel 3199. It will be 26 episodes long, and also have the Galman-Gamilas involved someplace...meaning it will at least partly take place immediately after 2205, though there may be time travel shenanigans involved (since this will be at least partly based on the plotline from the 1980 film "Be Forever, Yamato", which had a bit of temporal nonsense) fake or otherwise.

Speculation is that it may feature a combination of the story elements of Be Forever, Yamato and Yamato III (The Bolar Wars), since both storylines have a lot of holes in them now due to the timeline since Yamato 2199 came out. However the tag line for the series translates to "Change the future. The enemy is...Space Battleship Yamato."

New Voyage and Be Forever both involve conflict with the Dark Nebula Empire, so it stands to reason that if they're doing one, they're probably involving plotlines from both.

I don't recall any time travel elements in Be Forever Yamato.

In Be Forever, Yamato, there was the fake future Earth plot point, where the Dark Nebula Empire made their world looks like Earth and claimed to be from two hundred years in the future. Showed the crew of Yamato all the stuff they had done (which oddly included at least one scene from Farewell, to Space Battleship Yamato that this crew won't have done since if they had they would be dead) as well as their destruction if they went home. They had all sorts of Earth art and music and monuments scattered around the planet and palace. The crew figured out the fake out. via the people of that planet not having fingerprints and that the art was mirrored ('The Thinker" was resting on the wrong arm).

Yamato 2205 has some indications that perhaps the Dark Nebula (or Dezarium) are either time travelers or have access to a means of seeing multiple different futures and are trying to move events to a specific timeline for their own purposes. It is unclear which at this time.

It would make sense for Rebel 3199 to also involve Galman-Gamilas and the Bolar since they spent money on Bolar ship models for the opening of Yamato 2205. Might as well get some more use out of them. This in addition to the Derarium models, but that is sort of a given.

It is speculated that the reason for the "future" year of 3199 for the title is that the number "3" would indicate a third series. Much like how the second series in the reboot was Yamato 2202 was picked because of all the "2"s, even though most of the series takes place during the year 2203 (only the first ten or less episodes take place during 2202)

Yeah, baby.

I've previously seen a video of a guy doing almost exactly the same thing (including the SFX), but he was in his studio with about 4 different keyboards, while this gal is doing it live in front of an audience.

Legends create legends. In this case, legendary music inspires one to be a legendary player.

Yamato "Rebel 3199"

Looks from the concepts like it's based at least in part on the "Be Forever Yamato" movie.

(Though I'm not sure I want to know how we got from 2205 to 3199...)

There was also a manga called "Space Battleship Yamato Next: Star Blazers Lambda," but it doesn't even look like the same universe.

Lambda is an alternate universe that seems like a mix of Yamato with Neon Genesis Evangelion.

Rebel 3199 takes place (or at least will start) in the year 2207. So, Earth will have at least a year or two to prepare. What will they be able to do with 26 episodes to retell the story of a 148 minute long film?

My understanding is that they're working in a lot of the storyline from the Yamato III series (specifically, Dessler and the Garuman/Bolar conflict).

I look forward to what they might come up with since there is a bunch of plot points that just can't work anymore due to how things have happened between Earth and Gamilas.
