Is there a chat/any interest in a chat?

I've just started to wonder; is there some kind of official/unofficial IRC/Discord/other chat set-up for the frequenters of this forum?

For THIS forum.. not officially.. but I do believe some fans use IRC.. though I've never been able to catch anyone on.. and I'm kinda a neophyte to operating IRC... so I'm not really sure what I'm doing whant trying to find the right channel.

There is/was an IRC channel some time ago. Not sure if its still in use or has been deleted.

For some reason it doesn't come up in a regular search.

Looks to be completely dead. I just checked it out. Chanserv is reporting it was registered on 19 March 2005, and was last used on 28 July 2009.

If people will actually come and stay come, I have no qualms with starting it back up. Especially if "people" includes Jim.

IRC is a little dated and a lot cumbersome for people who didn't start using the internet until about 2008 or so.
Perhaps a Discord chat would be more appropriate today? It has the advantage of an easy-to-use click-and-go web-to-webclient link.

There's Slack, too (if we wanted to be "trendy").

All Discord servers are free, so I'd prefer that (and I already use the service).

edit: HERE WE GO

I use Discord for a few game related stuff, I highly recommend it.

Far more versatile and user friendly.
