I guess you could call it "command tension" between Stillstorm and Ashrain?
Your sure i said that? Buy the farm is an expression i didn't even know (and still don't know precisely what it mean other than a bad thing) Also there less orthographic / grammatical error than usual (was i drunk and if so, am better in english when am drunk?) i think it more of a missquote *watch your fir...eee quoting*
Its hard to estimate because the webcomic is composed of still pictures. But how long do the beams last (or pulse) for when fired? The lasers would tend to "flicker" on and off while shooting at different targets. The split beam seems to convey this. But the other beam weapons like the plasma focus and blasters are all depicted as solid beams. Additionally the pulse cannon sometimes has visible bulges along its beam. It easiest to see this when the Tempest is firing. Is this where the name came from?

The lasers pulse for a fraction of a second, but between the three barrels in one mount, the fire is nearly continuous.
The other beams will last for a few seconds at most.
The pulse cannon is so-named because it's a pulsed version of the plasma focus. It sends superheated plasma down a carrier beam, but in discrete pulses rather than in a continuous jet like the regular plasma focus.
Smug indeed. I can just imagine what kind of supercilious and condescending remark she's going to make. Maybe I'm wrong, though; maybe Ashrain is a perfectly wonderful CO.

ohh Nice, I must say your still draw amazing either way.
I also like the full pic of the characters in the WIP as you get more of the body language. too bad you can't have the full pic ( IE cutting and editing frames)
Also, nice views of the back of Umiak H-cruiser type
page 83 going to be another jaw dropper
I am a wander, going from place to place without a home I am a NOMAD
Ah I apologize, the battle just got me thinking about it is all, I figured Beryl had friends on the Winter Tide, actually page 83 seems to have answerd my question of their similarity to humans personality wise.
"Worlds governed by artificial intelligence often learned a hard lesson, Logic doesn't care" Andromeda season 2 episode 6 All too Human
I have a feeling that the damage is much worse on the inside than it is on the outside, given plasma's tendency to expand. Hopefully there will still be some survivors that can be rescued before the ship needs to be scuttled. (At least thats what I am guessing will happen.)
