I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that she's eyeing him suspiciously because he's saying something in English and not Trade, knowing how paranoid the Loroi are about Umiak infiltration she would find it suspicious that he would speak in English and not Trade. That or the long wind of silence as he stares at the wreckage.
