Hmm... I don't see how that is supposed to work. It looks like it uses a tablet and a ring on the pen or pencil to track its movement, but it seems to me the result will be a crude tracing of your pencil movements; I don't see how it can possibly detect or replicate the properties of the pen or pencil or the texture of the paper.

Its basically a fancy tablet pc with strong detection to allow you to draw on paper on top of the tablet. The ring probably helps tracking just like a typical wireless tablet pen. I wouldn't be surprised if the graphite in the pencil was also used as a conduction source to help with the tracking.

Wacom has a few devices that do similar things with mixed results. While I could see this filling an niche its still just as easy to scan a drawing and clean it up in photoshop. The only benefit you really gain is a step by step record as you draw.
