Schlock did have several "musical updates", if I remember correctly?

Or is my mind messing up with Sluggy Freelance?

Well, if we're going for definitions:
An extended dramatic composition, in which all parts are sung to instrumental accompaniment, that usually includes arias, choruses, and recitatives, and that sometimes includes ballet.
Since most Space Opera does include the extended dramatic composition portion, all you really need is the appropriate musical accompaniment that covers the range of emotions that you want to evoke. Legend of the Galactic Heroes does this fairly well I feel.

It'd be a fair effort to find the appropriate musical accompaniment for every page of the comic, but I reckon it could be done.

Space Opera has been a thing for a long time. Star Wars, Babylon 5, and Battlestar Galactica are all examples. Schlock could count, too. It's not just the music that makes it an opera, it's the dramatic and epic elements to the story.

I hardly dare to ask, but is there a new target date for the next page?

The date is the same as all previous ones: "When it's ready".

Sorry.

Nope.
But this is not the only slow updater I'm following.
But it is indeed the longest running one I'm following now...

Arch's main problem is he has a life outside of this comic and that life tends to pay for electricity, running water, and food. So quite litteraly you can have a baby between pages here.

Hello I just joined, been a long time lurker for this webcomic for years, and I only just recently decided to join in since I had bothered. And to top it all off I'm a fanfiction writer for science fiction stories for years, none of them are of particular note, but I figured that the themes of this series was interesting enough to invest into. In any case I hope to see more comics, and plan to write something of interest for this series since I am intrigued by it.

Welcome, ED!

PS. Have a peek at the (currently sleepy) fanfic threads (in the order of last posts):
writing prompts
What to do with Jardin?
The pale horse
Calm Seas
Looking forward to the mirror

I'm sure there are more, but can't be bothered to search for more right now...
You're more than welcome to add yours, please do. I'll be reading!

Yeah, as far as i'll check them - that's a good stuff! I didn't search very deep, but i'm curious... does authors of these post a external links on fics, like google docs or something? Reading walls of text of forum is not really handy for me...

I kinda put the editing of 'Looking forward to the mirror' on hold for a few months. RL stuff and being put down with the lack of updates for the comic. Started back up again and I will probably be finishing the editing 'soon' (TM)

dragoongfa (If I remember correctly, it was her/him) started doing google docs (where I don't read...), the rest is forum only....

AFAIK.

Indeed. Usually I am no fanfic reader, but the fanfic here is really catchy!
May have to do with the slow update speed, so fanfic takes ages to be contradicted by the canon-comic...

Wasn't me, I am going to convert the whole story in a PDF book.
