The Forums are Restored.

I've never used the "quick links", so I was unaware that such a feature even existed.

I haven't done anything to change the forums within the last week or so (except for rebuilding the search index). I'll try to find out what's up with that.

Found it. It was buried in a rather unintuitive place. Of course it's not in "Search Settings," it's in "Load Settings." o_O

Should be working now.

Apparently this setting was added in v3.0.14 (old forum version was 3.0.12, new version is 3.3.0), though I'm not clear on why this "feature" was needed.

The new posts are the posts that are new since your last visit.

Likely, the phpBB team just decided that "unread" is too general, because "unread" would also show mails which have not been read during your last visit.

That's why I think unread is better. If i missed some updated topics during last visit, new posts doesn't show them, but unread do. Also if I read some posts during login session, unread wouldn't show them again.

Well, Every now and then I actually go to the forums directly and read them there. Unread get highlighted that way too...

The Quick links has Your posts aka egosearch mode, but it actually output topics instead of posts. That makes this option almost useless in case one want to quickly find something he posted recently. Is it possible to switch its output from topics to posts?

I prefer the "topics", as I use the"egosearch" to see if there are replies in topics I posted in.


Otherwise, here is a list of your previous posts (new to old).
It's under your profile. (Click your name, click "Search user's posts", which is on the right side, the first of the bold lines)
(If no post with your name is handy, at the top right there's your user name with a drop-down menu, and that contains a link to your profile)
It's 2-3 clicks to your desired result (depending on starting point in the forums, whether your user name is shown somewhere;
"Quick links" -> "your posts" is also 2 clicks)

(you could also go via the search->advanced search->"Username" in the author field, the resulting URL https://www.well-of-souls.com/forums/search.php?keywords=&terms=all&author=SVlad&sc=1&sf=all&sr=posts&sk=t&sd=d&st=0&ch=300&t=0&submit=Search looks impressively long, but has your username instead of an id, and you could at the same time limit the results to certain keywords.

I search so seldom for a specific post I posted that I use the search function for that.


For the phpBB fiddlers: you could also add the parameter &sr=posts to the URL of your search request.
The "egosearch" URL would then look like https://www.well-of-souls.com/forums/search.php?search_id=egosearch&sr=posts and result in a search result you want, with every single post shown, and not the topics in which you have posted.
(I simply tried it when I saw the parameter in the URL of the results via the profile page)

That's indeed an accuracy.
But a title of "Threads in which you have participated" just soudns too long to be considered by the phpBB team.

Surprisingly egosearch request ended with &sr=posts also works

remove the "s" from "https", and then most of them work again.

Don't use the whole url, just use the video ID. The part that comes after the "v=".
