And you cannot ignore the warships, because a single warship slipping through may mean a whole lost world, with all their ressources lost...

Suicide runs are the way to go, while you maybe will not be able to use the destroyed worlds yourself, you broke the opponent's backbone, and will have a much better ratio of what needs to be invested to go forward conquering the rest, while your opponent lacks a lot to defend the rest.

Well, I'll be honest and say that it's a mix of conjecture and reasonable assumption. The first bit of conjecture: The war isn't anywhere close to over at the time of the story. All the language used up to now has indicated as such, and while I can assume the Loroi are able to keep a potential spy in the dark (since they have no way of knowing Alex's inner thoughts), the few that believe him to be genuine would have mentioned something to the effect that the outcome of the war is all but inevitable by now (if not at least slipping up on their level of confidence). It seems pretty deadlocked, at best, currently.
Kikitik-27 has specifically said on page 88: "what we witness here is the first movement of the end of this war". Unless it's a ruse cruise to intimidate Stillstorm (which he himself notes he CANNOT do and that he DOESN'T expect her to listen in any way), the Hierarchy command at large believes that "time has become irrevocable as it has". Having devised a counter to the key Loroi strategic advantage that is Farseeing, the Hierarchy would be idiotic not to exploit it to the maximum possible effect ASAP, before Loroi figured out the shift and adapted to it.

I see no reason why this couldn't be either a diversionary tactic or a test run of technology they have no proof of working yet (they have their proof now, were that the case).
The Stray has already shell'd two other Loroi Strike Groups in Naam - SG51 is the third one to get ambushed there using the counter-fasreeing capabilities. Considering the time it took for all back-and-forth, the Hierarchy could have the first solid strategic scale field-test confirmation of the efficiency of their solution months ago, and by the time of Leido advance - they have at least three solid positives. There's no need for further field-testing.

Overall, the Hierarchy definitely anticipates massive casualties (as it always does), but this specific Lotai Banzai is most likely expected to massively succeed in completely breaching the front and opening a stable and well-controlled path to the Loroi interior, and the eventual siege of the Sister Worlds. But hark - enter the protagonists!

Seems like kindof a large attack for a diversion...

I assume that's exactly what this particular wave of Khalkha divisions is doing. What's left in Leido Crossroads are the divisions suppressing the other jump zones, and the arrival of one wave of 'raider-collections' divisions, namely "The Stray's" force.
The first arrivals through the Rallis jump zone have already left through Enedd jump zone. With them all the supply ships they need.
