I don't think that she is pointing the barrel of her pistol at him, probably holding the pistol in her left hand while resting her arm against his back. Whoever has tried to hold a grip onto something for an extended period of time will know how uncomfortable it can get after a while without relaxing and resting the grip.

Well, either they are vaguely boned or the bugs are, I guess.

To be fair there are like at least two super powerful psykers on board, thats probably not something they are normally expected to be able to deal with, when entire warships for them are considered kindof expendable.

Somebody either commited suicide or was kiled. A Loroi... or maybe a Loroi android. Perhaps the metal crunch was Cloud... because she is an android made to look like Loroi to confuse Umiak over what is a high or low value target.

Whle all scifi writers reserve the right to use fiction in scifi where necessary, I will say tha the laser beams from the las-pistols would sound like the crack of lightning in real life. That is actually true scientifically. Looking not unlike the Loroi pulse plasma cannon beams fired from the spaceships do.


Also it is true IRL that any laser strong enough to cut metal is also strong enough to damage eyes even seeing only a reflection or a side of the beam.

But Loroi helmet visors can handle that, otherwise they would not use them.

Naked eyes without visors? That would be fiction in play.

I've been wondering about all that since the whole boarding sequence started. No remote cameras, no drones, no failsafes for the cyborgs? Illusions only work against living brains, not AIs.

Anyway, I think all those sounds are made by shoe girl Cloud, who already exterminated half the Umiak crew with her mighty weapon, the shoe. I mean they are essentially bugs, right?

Yes, I've read their GURPS sheets, but aren't those abilites on the level of a targeted jamming device? Would that not simply destroy or disable Umiak sensors, for example. I don't think this level can actually override or re-route the signals, showing the boarder an empty hallway. Some cameras suddenly going offline or being filled with static? Quite suspicious, I would say.

P.S.: eh, I think I should stop with that nitpicking (a bad habit of mine, sorry) and concentrate on my writing. Maybe its the Historian AI hacking the Umiak, otherwise the Loroi would've been in deep trouble by now.
