Well, if the drive can produce tachyonic particles that are capable of interacting with the mass of the spacecraft, yeah, that might do some impressive things. I see one problem with tachyons at least--since such particles have negative mass, one would expect they impart negative momentum as well. That is, they will attract the spacecraft in the direction they stream (if you can get them to interact with the spacecraft at all). But--I'm not a physicist.
