This is going to take some getting used to. But if it lets people actually join the forums, it's a good change.

JPEG is particularly inefficient for things like line art. PNG is generally better than GIF, that 7.8K GIF compressed to a 4.7K PNG, and both are better for things that can be reduced to a small number of colors and have large areas of flat color than JPEG. Could get it even smaller by going to 16 colors, though there's visible color changes.

phpBB supports attachments, which have the nice benefit of not depending on some outside image service. Disk space used is a downside, of course, though I believe you can set a quota limiting the amount each user can use.

Also a working "jump to last new message" would be nice. It may already be implanted but i haven found it yet.

Thought I'd try to register and get in. Long-ish lurker on the other Outsider forums. I'm here from RelicNews, due to Outsider's fame in the Studio there. I've sent on some fanart pretty regularly to Arioch here and there. If I come up with anything new, I'll see if I can test out the image posting function here.

And because Riess would probably drag me in here sooner rather than later.

Okay, testing this new forum out. Seems pretty solid so far. Better than the old one, in fact. The autopruning of olders threads was a bit annoying there. Especially if I hadn't visited in a while.

It's OK tho, I think...

Display of nested quotes seems to work well. It's only missing alternating BG colors for layers of quotation. This only becomes relevant if deep quoting is used tho.
