Re: Miscellaneous Loroi question-and-answer thread
There's some oddities in the new version that seem like errors to me. In more than one place there's two adjacent words that used to have separate definitions but now share one. For instance, ashrin and azerein used to be warship and emperor, and now they're listed a both meaning warship. The other obvious pairs are bamalo and bamalo, or basen or basena, in which cases the duplicate is a new word but a repeated translation.
Edit: On a second look I guess the new duplicates are noun vs adjective form. I ran a diff tool over the two versions to help highlight new words for anyone looking to use them. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/896 ... hanges.htm

Thanks, the diff was very helpful. I missed 4 words, but I have properly marked them in the master list so that they won't be missed next time. Unfortunately, the dual-column format of the table in the webpage makes it a real pain to add individual words.

Fair enough then. It just seemed kind of weird that most holograms shown were not displaying things like that. Oh well.icekatze wrote:hi hi
Actually, we know that the resolution on their holograms is at least as good as our computer monitors, because they display smooth gradients blending from one color to another.

The captions read erebas sazaset, and rozain ronnei pelor dezon. moriet tonirrir lishradil dezon.
Re: Miscellaneous Loroi question-and-answer thread
Thank you.
So, erebas sazaset means tempest fearsome, and second phrase is:
victory from duty only. ascension through community only.

Some of those skulls don't look like the others. What species would that be from?

It's been discussed before, and the conclusion is that they were all human skulls, just some from odd angles.

Or more likely loroi skulls. The really disturbing part is the small skulls, indicating children.Siber wrote:It's been discussed before, and the conclusion is that they were all human skulls, just some from odd angles.

Perhaps but such a large size difference seems disturbing in itself. Cannot someone please hand those poor guys some growth hormones?dragoongfa wrote:Or Loroi males if their head size is parallel to their body size.Sweforce wrote:Or more likely loroi skulls. Joke aside, if the comic where to depict males looking like children and inform us that they are for sex. The comic may have legal trouble in some areas when it run into some over-zealot bureaucrat.

In that case they should ban dwarf porn first
Seriously though, it most probably depicts the skulls of both children and males since the myth draws heavily from the Loroi Iron age which must have been at least as violent us our Iron age in regards to the complete and utter annihilation of rival tribes.

Loroi males have roughly the same sized skulls as females. In the legend, Tempest used her storm powers to attack the city-state that had betrayed her, and more or less wiped the place out. Presumably there were children among the casualties. Heroic myths rarely seem to have happy endings.Sweforce wrote:Perhaps but such a large size difference seems disturbing in itself. They don't look like children (or, at least, not any more so than the adult characters in hundreds of anime), and the ones we'll see in the comic explicitly aren't children (one being more than 50 years old, the other being more than 100 years old). The prohibition (in US federal law, at least) is against "visual depiction of sexually explicit conduct involving a minor". These characters aren't minors, don't "appear to depict an identifiable, actual minor", and, more the point, will not be depicted in sexually explicit imagery.Sweforce wrote:Joke aside, if the comic where to depict males looking like children and inform us that they are for sex. Social justice warrior types rarely get riled up over exploitative imagery of heterosexual male characters. I would be more concerned about someone objecting to sexually explicit imagery of the female Loroi characters, since some of them are underage by our standards, even if they don't look it. But again, there's no plan for any such "sexually explicit" imagery. But as far as I'm aware there's no prohibition against the discussion of the subject matter in fiction; otherwise a number of classic books (Lolita), movies (Taxi Driver), and anime series would be banned.

There doesn't have to be anything egregious or immoral if some attention whoring SJW type wants to draw attention to themselves and their twitter and patreon accounts; they will just make something up and misrepresent things to high heaven for their 15 minutes of internet fame.
The only defense is to not give a single moment of your time to them and mock them to high heaven in turn.

Nope.

Re: Miscellaneous Loroi question-and-answer thread
I just realized the answer; the reward for the wager would be resupply priority. The mobile strike groups often have to resupply from a convoy rather than at base, as they are doing right now, and so the ships have to take turns in taking on supplies, those earlier in line both resupplying faster and getting first pick of available supplies. So Black Razor is at the head of the line to take on supplies right now, which turns out to be significant.Arioch wrote:Quatloos, of course.dragoongfa wrote:Silly question, what does the wager between the two Loroi commanders has as a reward?
Seriously though, it's a good question. I hadn't really thought about it.
Currency is the easiest answer, but I doubt that currency would be of very much use to either captain in their current situation. Being assigned to a raider group for which supply is an issue, I think it's more likely that they bet with some kind of goods or supplies that are hard to get.
I love it when a plan comes together.
