Not worrying about my own style too much, still just trying to get anatomy and perspective right. Thank you though, it's a far cry from even barely five years ago when I still thought there was no way I'd ever be any kind of an artist.
Little preview of the next pic for something simpler than a full on animation. Wish I'd got started on it earlier to be done in time for Halloween given its gruesome nature.
The Japanese have a interesting philosophy on how to master something: do it 1000 times every day and get whacked over the head with a fan by your master if he thinks that you screwed up. In short: you need to become a fanatic.
Breathe, eat and drink comics. Become one with comics. Climb the comics, just because they are there. Understand the cosmic connection between comics, the universe and you.
I adjusted that leg since posting this, though I'll take a look at the foot again since it is a tricky angle. But regarding her figure it's not like Fireblade is a Loroi version of Jessica Rabbit. https://well-of-souls.com/outsider/outsider180.html
I wanted to give her a little variation from the typical in-comic Loroi build since she's a front line combat soldier, so I made her a little less twiggy. Also tried to put a little Julie Bell-style on it (I could have gone a lot farther tbh).

Fun fact: did you know that "Loroi Union" has the same number of syllables as "California"?

I can still see a "twig" where there should be none. She (he?) also looks far older than on page 180, probably because the face is too long.
The "twig" is just rough sketching but lol yeah I guess it does look like that Likewise, the sketchiness is hiding her jawline a little and making her face seem longer than it is. I probably do need to move her left cheekbone down a tad though.

A lot of artists use these for poses. I know that Tom Siddell who draws Gunnerkrigg Court has a few of them on a shelf above his desk.
I couldn't find a good wooden ant model with detachable head / limbs though.
Now, turn this into a recruiting poster for the army.
