I'd dub it "Order of the Tempest, Seekers of Lorei"

Strategy of War is a little different in that it's not a CCG, you aren't required to buy $200 worth of packs per month to stay competitive. They actually planned on it being a CCG but responded to the feedback by switching to the current everythign-included model. Also the rules appear to be quite different.

To each his own though.

Saw this in a /tg/ thread, thought I'd bring it to the attention of our resident kickers.

Affording something like this is a long way off for me, but it's still pretty freakin' cool. http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/for ... 3d-printer

EDIT: The tiers have a big jump in price, too. From 40 bucks to 2300 is a pretty huge gap, hah.

That's the difference between swag and a functional 3D printer.

Here's a new attempt at creating Nexus 2...

http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/mos ... n?ref=live

Basically a tactical shooter in which the player commands several (customizable) ships as he goes along the missions.

N-N-N-N-NECROPOST-POST-post-post

http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/cal ... otal-decay

A post-apocalyptic city-management game where you have to try and keep your people alive as long as you can. I doubt it's going to make it but it's an idea that's almost exactly what I would make if I had the money.

Well she/he ask for 3000 euro. with is not that much to build a game. so i expect that money and this "creator" to vanish once it founded. But the idea is kind of nice.

Most likely they have the game already mostly made, it's not terribly uncommon for that in Kickstarter, they just need to license some assets or license the development tools so they can legally release it or something to that effect.

NECROPOST-post-post-post

Got some unexpected cash lately so I'm backing some stuff.

Kingdom Come
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/12 ... eliverance
Think Skyrim without magic. It's an open-world game in a much more realistic Medieval setting.

Space Pioneer
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/16 ... ce-pioneer
Intended to be a grounded-in-reality 4X RTS game made by real scientists, engineers and astronauts.

Starcrawlers
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/12 ... arcrawlers
Sci-fi dungeon crawler. Like Legend of Grimrock, with lasers.

Delta Green: Tales from Failed Anatomies
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/ar ... -anatomies
Collection of short stories from the Delta Green universe.

well space pioneer sound a lots like Kerbal but less cartooney with more battle and possibility i may be tempted to go there that is if they actually can do all of what they promise

starcrawlers an interresting genre and seem simple enough that their budget/goal seem legit and seem more likely to come to completion than actually an game made from a crew of russian (not that am raciste but considering what happenned in sochi...

and failed anatomy... that style of game isnt my style.

So if you go for space pioneer tell me :) i may be tempted to buy it just to crush you civilisation in MP

hmm, space pioneers, could be epically awesome, but most games trying for such a scope and width of gameplay usually flops all over, same is true for kingdom come.
problem is that they(developers) ALWAYS underestimate how much work it is to do something like that, i often say, give me a couple of hundred good game devs and about five to ten years and i will deliver an epically awesome game...but that is what it takes if you want to go that broad.

failed anatomy and starcrawlers are much smaller in scope, and that makes me believe it might actually be doable, of those two, starcrawlers is the game i would like to play.
and the crawler could actually go slightly off center and take a page out of the https://www.themightyquest.com/en/welcome playbook, for a interactive MP gameplay....probably wont, but it would be kinda cool to raid other players ships...

Kingdom Come reminds me of Mount & Blade. I'd like to play it.

Space Pioneer isn't going to be funded at this point. They're about 1/5 of the way funded and 1/2 of the way through their campaign, chances of funding are very slim.

Tales from Failed Anatomy isn't a game, it's a short story collection.

I'll agree that Kingdom Come is ambitious, but with the success that they've had I expect that they will find funding if they run out of money, so I'm not terribly concerned, Charlie if you want to hop in I believe you can still fund them on their website.

I'm not suprised that Space Pioneer is falling short; they didn't do a very good job of communicating what kind of game it is (whether scifi or near-future Kerbal style rocketry). I think it's hard to get a game funded when you have nothing at all to show... just confusing stock footage of galaxies and Sputnik missions. Even the concept art looks like it was grabbed from DeviantArt and not necessarily specific to the game.

Yeah, they really aren't doing that good of a job of it. It's interesting to look at the different campaigns and see what works and what doesn't, and how often projects go with what doesn't even when they have a bunch of examples to work with. It's REALLY amusing to watch a "How to succeed at crowdfunding" book fail, I've seen that twice so far.

and by the time you get there, graphic and hardware will have evolved so much that you game will look like crap compared to those new games :)

Unless you deliberately go the old school route, but then again that's probably Dwarf Fortress meets X in space. In 16-bit!
