I haven't played the first one yet, but System Shock 2 is awesome, it's also available on Steam and GOG.

Yeah, not a single "mixed" even from the pros.

The Metacritic rating, it's a 33 out of 100. One of the worst I've seen. Not THE worst, but up (down?) there.

The X series' flight system has always felt... off. Wonky. Wasn't really looking forward to the new one since it seemed they were intent on "fixing" a lot of what set them apart instead of what held them back. I'd like to be a fly on the wall at corporate as they handle the fallout from this one.

Edit: I just compared and... how did SotS 2 manage to beat Rebirth (44%)? It wasn't even playable at release.

nomad: total rework of homeworld 2, making it more....well complex, new ships, new resources, rebalanced, new....everything.
only for skirmish games though, try it, it's awesome.

nomad: well, it worked for me, the question is more does HW2 work, which it does to my knowledge(since i am running a win7, not gonna move to 8 any time soon.), and this is a mod for HW2.

I have never had any problems with HW2 and its mods on both of my computers. (Ultimate and Home Premium)

So it should work without a hitch :)

I tried Homeworld 2 on my new Win7 system, but it doesn't support the 16:9 widescreen resolutions available on my monitor. It ran briefly in a funky glitched mode and then crashed.

Doesn't work on my system; HW2 seems to ignore the command line height and width parameters.

I'm not in search of a solution (I can wait for the HD re-releases), just pointing out that it doesn't work on my Win7 system.

I just wish they still made affordable 4:3 monitors. I play a lot of games that benefit as much from vertical space as horizontal and surfing the net is better with vertical as well. 16:10 is the best we can get these days.
