 Re: WIP Discussion (Part 1!)
Perhaps he *marks* his territory (or at least uses red tape to define his personal zone or bathes in tubs of jello as someone else suggested a while back....)

 Re: WIP Discussion (Part 1!)
Have they picked him up yet? I thought that the current Farseer was due to be rotated back and replaced, but that that hadn't happened yet, and was going to happen when SG51 linked up with the next resupply convoy.

 Re: WIP Discussion (Part 1!)
It "Welcome rain" the only loroi male we know of yet. supposed to replace / fix tempest farseer. or something like that. and i think the point were people think loroi male are territorial come from beryl question on page 37 but it wasnt stated that loroi male were territorial. Actually the way Beryl ask the question make me think otherwise; she seem to find it uncommon for males to be territorial. (Dunno how to explain that)

 Re: WIP Discussion (Part 1!)
hi hi
If I recall from insider or various forum discussions past, Loroi males sometimes live in separate enclaves with other males where they pursue their own interests with like minded individuals when they're not performing their... normal functions. So probably not particularly territorial.

 Re: WIP Discussion (Part 1!)
This territorial mix up might be because Beryl asked Alex early on if human males were territorial. Her asking that could mean that Loroi males could be territorial, however.

 Re: WIP Discussion (Part 1!)
hi hi
I always figured that Beryl asked that directly in response to Alex's question about their apparent all female crew complement. To Alex, it was strange to see no men around given the other similarities between them. To Beryl, it was a strange question for him to ask because males are naturally uncommon for them.

 Re: WIP Discussion (Part 1!)
Ooooh, here we go! I was hoping Arioch would stay true to the dream sequence for the beginning of chapter 2.
Also recently I became aware of this vampiric psionic skill from GURPS: Steal Dreams You can steal someone’s dreams, leaving his sleep useless and unfulfilling. (Anyone with Doesn’t Sleep is immune.) If you win a Quick Contest of skill vs. his Will, his next full night’s sleep does not count for FP recovery; treat it as though he was awake the entire time! There is no outer indication that he is having problems – to an observer, he is sleeping peacefully. His dreams, however, are transferred to you; you experience them the next time you sleep. A canny vampire can use this ability to learn more about a person’s secrets, or uncover his hopes and desires. A sadistic vampire can use this ability on a victim every day, until it kills him! At level 1, you must make skin-to-skin contact with the victim. At level 2, any touch will do. Level 3 allows use at range; your skill is at -1 per yard of distance to the person. At level 4, use normal range penalties (p. B550) instead. Level 5 (which requires GM’s permission to take) changes this to long-distance modifiers (p. B241), allowing you to affect someone across town, as long as you know exactly where he is.
I think Tempo might possess vampiric psionic abilities, based upon her... fascinating interaction with Alex on the bridge. Also since the skill seems to be location based and not detection based, he might not be as resistant to it as he is to psi-detection.

 Re: WIP Discussion (Part 1!)
I'm guessing it's a flashback/dream.
Possible it might be a short skip in the future, but I doubt it.

 Re: WIP Discussion (Part 1!)
Actually, this makes the hypothesis that we're seeing either Fireblade's or Alexander's dream via jumbled-up psychic interface on a psychically resistant species possible. I mean, dream-Alex is a spitting image to Captain Hamilton.

 Re: WIP Discussion (Part 1!)
Either Captain or Chief Pilot's getup, I suppose. Looking back, the pilots did appear to have scarves, but not quite as fancy.

 Re: WIP Discussion (Part 1!)
Arioch has said that he wanted the flashback to be in the beginning of chapter 1 but figured it would confuse people if Alex woke up with Fireblade hovering over him right after (make them think they were seeing what SHE was seeing). This is just a flashback showing us a bit of what happened before the prologue, IIRC we're going to see what got Alex on DC duty.

 Re: WIP Discussion (Part 1!)
I gotta ask, does Arioch have a copy of that shipyard in colour or was it made in black and white? Because seeing a colour copy of the terran docks would be awesome on the scale of 25 out of ten
The rest of the pictures might be nice to have a colour copy as well, but that shipyard fascinates me O_O
