Re: Star Wars SPOILERS ALLOWED
I thought it obvious that she was trained by and/or is related to Luke in some way. That would explain some of her Force related feats. Definitely could have done without the mind control and beating Ren in the forest. Far better to have her beaten by him and have the ground open up between them in...

Re: Is Outsider still an active project, or is it over?
Have you ever considered releasing it in a light novel format? Mostly text with occasional illustrated pages.

Re: Cultural shock/differences
I don't see any Loroi joining Terran military for any reason other than appointed advisers. Seeing as how war is seen as the better half of politics to them, their institutions are probably light years ahead of ours. If anything, Terrans would join the Loroi Union to learn some of their tricks.

Re: Miscellaneous Loroi question-and-answer thread
How densely packed are Loroi cities? Is there anything that can compare to modern American/Asian cities, much less future ones? I'd imagine, given their disposition towards personal space, cities would be more European. Shallow but spread out. I have a hard time imagining Loroi bumping into one anot...

Re: WTF BOTS!!!
either the CAPTCHA test is easy to defeat, or the registrations are being done manually. I am experimenting with different CAPTCHA settings to see if I can increase the effectiveness of the test against bots... but if they have real people doing the registrations, there's very little I can do to st...

Re: Page 92
A long-range scout starship is a very expensive, cutting-edge piece of hardware, especially for Humanity. Traveling these distances is not routine for humans; they don't have any cheap "rust-bucket" starships that can travel farther than any human vessel ever has. The people manning these ships are...

Re: Chapter 2 cover
It's more likely that the Terran politicians would be more involved in the issue of Alex continuing to be an ambassador for their species, but I would guess that, going by the thread of most stories along these lines, the Loroi may become too attached to Alex's service to both them and his own spec...

Re: Couple questions
That's absolutely true, but those are just tools being manipulated by your remaining muscles, and aren't really any different (except in cost and sophistication) from the body-powered mechanical prosthetics that my grandfather had. They require that the relevant muscles still be present and operati...

Re: Couple questions
Point being, bioaugs can hypothetically achieve the same results as pure bionics. While it's a fair point 40k is possibly the worst possible example to use as a comparison to real life. The thing about 40k is that's it's not entirely implausible. While a large number seem unusual, keep in mind that...

Re: Couple questions
Sounds like a 40k space marine, and they're only biologically and genetically enhanced. 1. Fairly certain SPEES MUHREENS receive cybernetic augs as well. 2. 40k is as soft as possible for sci-fi. Probably softer than Star Trek if that's possible. Individual things in 40K aren't completely implausib...

All this talk of artificial limbs just makes me reminded of a bad experience in a recent gaming secession... *shudders* here comes the Manei Domini... Imagine a Human with a ton of strength, runs faster than you, can spit poison, take a bullet and track you down by the sound of your beating heart.....
