Re: Miscellaneous Loroi question-and-answer thread
How much time has passed between pages 119 and 124? Has Alex really assimilated the Loroi alphabet as quickly as it seems? I know - the story needs to move forward, but it seems really quick.

Regarding Talon's remark that the commander come fish the shuttle: wouldn't there be a risk that Stillstorm is in on that communication loop? I can't wait to hear what Tempo has to say...

Re: Miscellaneous Loroi question-and-answer thread
Let's put the question to rest because now it is bugging even me (and I think that this has been asked before but can't for the life of me find it): How strong are the Loroi in physical terms? Matching their human counterparts, stronger, weaker that short of thing. I would expect for Loroi warriors...

Re: Miscellaneous Loroi question-and-answer thread
This may have been asked before, but do Loroi have 'handedness' like humans do? Is one side predominant like right-handedness for us? Now that I think about it, this aspect of our physiology might have interesting implications for a telepathic species. If each side of a Loroi brain specializes, and...

Re: Page 124 and 125, interesting times afoot.
hi hi Unfortunately for Talon, and the occupants of Highland-7, I believe the strategically correct move for the Clearbrook in this situation is to hit the proverbial afterburners and leave the system as quickly as possible in order to sound the alarm. Not, as Talon would like, maneuver for an earl...

I can also see this being bad news for Alex. These Umiak ships (we assume) are coming from a vector that leads to Humanity's space, across the Great Wasteland... how is he going to explain that, after his sudden appearance?

Re: WIP Discussion (Part 1!)
@cacambo43: No glitch, your guess is right. Check out http://www.well-of-souls.com/outsider/loroi_trade.html and you will find no c or k. I imagine Loroi are perfectly capable of making K sounds through roughly the same means that humans do, they just don't use them in their language. Most language...

Re: WIP Discussion (Part 1!)
Are the letters not getting converted because they don't exist in Trade? But both C and K had no Trade counterparts - is this just a glitch on my system/browser? How do Loroi make "K" sounds?

Re: Miscellaneous Loroi question-and-answer thread
The concept of Humanity in the Union is filled with corner-cases where the human lack of telepathy becomes in some way a highly specialized boon to the telepaths themselves. Particualrly with Fireblade, the more I think about it. She can speak aloud, because she knows that Alex (from first hand exp...

Re: Miscellaneous Loroi question-and-answer thread
To quote the insider: "Further, it is speculated that the Historians never lost much of their Soia-era technology or history." Which makes it very likely the Historians are holding all the cards and that this conflict is contrived or at least heavily manipulated. I think I like the hypothesis that ...

Re: Page 123: not much to see
Fireblade, on the other hand, is as straight forward as a ruler. She doesn't like Alex personally, not just professionally, she can't read him and from her point of view he's the enemy and she's waiting for the first smallest reason to kill him. That being said, she is a security officer on board t...

Re: Miscellaneous Loroi question-and-answer thread
Given the broad similarities between humans and Loroi, is the innate sense of familial attachment psychologically/sociologically repressed in Loroi society or genetically missing? Is there a motherly or parental attachment to children that is suppressed when a Loroi female has a child?

Are we to assume most of the dialog in the lower panel is being said by Beryl? Talon's grammar seems to have improved a bit since Alex's handshake.

Where in the comic is this implied? You know a lot of "us guys" can help it, and without being 40 year old virgins, either. CJSF Quiet, man-thing! Stow that penis and comport yourself under the staircase where your cave-dwelling kind belongs, lest you molest some woman! LOL! CJSF

Re: Pages 121, 122: Followers
I don't think its been established that the Umiak toasted Bellarmine , and I'd be fairly surprised if it was. Why the surprise? Because it wouldn't make for a compelling story, in my opinion. I have more faith in Arioch than that. I am also hedging toward the Historians, but maybe not as strongly a...

Re: Pages 121, 122: Followers
The Stray recognised that this tactic may be what his admirality wants, but brings little to no effect. So he prefers to bring news home, and possibly scavenge the other ships to improve his own. And come back in greater forces. If there is ever to be a more personal adversary for Alex then the vag...

Re: Pages 121, 122: Followers
Two pages at once? *faints* Great work as always, but a critique that the angles on the last panel of page 122 don't seem quite right. Stillstorm is being viewed from what appears to me to be a moderately shallower angle than the angle the background is being viewed from. OMG NO! SHHH!!! The render...

Re: Constellations on page 49
Considering that they are in the room with the Tempest mosaic there is a distinct possibility that the ancient loroi, just like us, made constellations of their mythical heroes. as such there may be a "Tempest" constellation. Want a bit of fun? I would be awesome it our sun was part of one of those...
