Re: Is the comic dead?

This hiatus does have a new, rather unsettling quality to it. The newest page here is 218, which was posted on Patreon more than a year ago. Then, we have 26 half-finished pages behind a paywall. Will they ever be finished? When will they appear here? Only time can tell.

Re: Outsider Universe and Domesticating Animals

"Domesticated sentients" kind of gets us into gray areas of the definitions of both words. If an intelligent organism has no free will, is it really "sentient," and if it does have free will, is it really "domesticated?" If "domesticated" just means "adapted to live on a farm or in a house instead ...

Re: Outsider Universe and Domesticating Animals

Perhaps the Soia did it for the loroi’s sake. Even as a genetically engineered race themselves, the loroi likely had their own culture. The traits of which may have been inherited from their human predecessors. According to the Loroi, they were the Soia. Besides, they had no planet-side settlements...

Re: Outsider Universe and Domesticating Animals

In Outsider , the Loroi had both a domestication advantage, in that they inherited some engineered plants and animals from the precursor civilization that were useful for food and materials, but also a domestication disadvantage, in that they didn't have any good candidates to use for power or tran...

Re: Outsider Universe and Domesticating Animals

A high-tech civilization wouldn't need domesticated animals anymore. They may improve whatever they already have out of tradition and convenience, but past a certain point, it will be far too inefficient. Utility stuff like herding, pest elimination, guarding, hunting, detection, etc. can be done wi...

Re: [Fan Fiction] Notes and discussion for "A sword that wields itself"

I guess the nomadic loroi clans would be really dangerous to humanity with their reproductive speed and immunity to disease, Yet somehow, it's the Loroi who were driven into the outlying wastelands, and are forced to live a harsh nomadic life. The "elves" and humans, on the other hand, built a sett...

Re: [Fan Fiction] Notes and discussion for "A sword that wields itself"

An unexpected change of location but quite refreshing the tone of the story, The Intermissions did hint at that possibility. I can also now implement a couple of unused ideas I've created for a D&D campaign. are you planning a meeting with the top leadership of the union in the future? I've planned...

Re: [Fan Fiction] Notes and discussion for "A sword that wields itself"

I can’t help but think of the bard from ‘The Witcher’ after reading this chapter. To be honest, I didn't like that Dandelion guy, especially in the TV series. Instead, this bard is based on a D&D campaign I DM'ed long ago. Bard: (sees Fireblade crouching, in a dark alley) Hello… oh aren’t you just ...

Intermission W: By mere chance The bard Athedil was aimlessly strolling through the busy streets of the City of Pillars. Normally, this would be the time of the Festival, the main money-making opportunity for anyone in his profession. Peasants delivering their harvest before the rainy season, pilgr...

Enzin and Emberwing hath descended upon the mystical world. Out to seek yon’ mysterious deity. Or Wonder if ‘God’, as ‘twer,’ hath found them? Interestingly enough, Alex' seemingly haphazard plan of getting in contact with someone worked right off the bat. Just a coincidence, or maybe not? That who...

Chapter XXXXVI: A leap into the Unknown Alexander Jardin was handed a spear by a subordinate, then headed towards the airlock. After they gathered inside, he pressed on the controls, and with a popping sound, the shuttle doors opened, letting in the planet’s atmosphere. It was somewhat thin, dry, a...

Re: Wind and Fire

This was rather good, perhaps the best chapter you wrote. An interesting political debate, some cultural exchange, this would be a good chapter to initiate a new arc. Within the same work, mind you, it is completely unsuitable to be an ending.

Now you made me think about threesomes. That's already covered in multiple fanfics. :D What on Earth makes you think canon Alex has ANY interest in the red headed harpy AKA Fireblade? Well, he was at least somewhat interested in her . Since they are now telepathically connected, it may offer a chan...

Re: Miscellaneous Loroi question-and-answer thread

Would a couple of trivial questions about Loroi everyday life be fine? 1. How big would a civilian or military Loroi living space be? Since they prefer a bit of distance, it can't be too cramped, right? 2. What kind of transport do they use planetside? I'd guess that they would lean more towards pub...

Still...I dare say they are not as bold as either the Loroi or the Umiak who both are warlike enough to be the dominant powers in the known galaxy.
The religion did transform their society into a somewhat pacifist one.
