Re: [RP]Cydonia Rising (OOC)

Just had a massive post eaten by the system. Too angry to post again tonight. Please continue with no response from the humans.

Re: [RP]Cydonia Rising (OOC)

There seems to be some confusion here, so let me clear this up. Wolffe said that he wants their weapons for the safety of both parties. This means 'we would feel safer if we did not have strangers on our ship with weapons, so we will put them in a locker for you over here and return them to you when...

Re: [RP]Cydonia Rising (OOC)

Speaking as a soldier, sunphoenix you are very wrong. No strange person I have never met before, you may not walk right up to my commanding officer with an assault rifle in your hand so we can decide whether we are friends or not, and screw you very much for asking. When the Loroi had Alex on their ...

Re: [RP]Cydonia Rising [IC]

Wolffe watched carefully as Roland made the recovery of the drifter. The Sergeant was experienced and practiced in his movements, quickly securing her and preparing her for retrieval. With the pair properly fastened together Wolffe signaled for Bomber to bring them in via their lifelines. Once Bombe...

Re: [RP]Cydonia Rising (OOC)

Observe my edited post for videos of room clearing in practice. At no point does a flamethrower seem like a great plan. Maybe in the open or when fighting in heavy brush, but closed quarters? Any weapon that does not instantly kill the enemy is a recipe to get yourself killed. Flash or frag then two...

Re: [RP]Cydonia Rising (OOC)

I would count on a grenade ten times out of ten during room clearing before I would stand in the open and fire a jet of plasma at the enemy before having my guys charge into the room I just set ablaze, molten metal and all. Taking away a weapon that we have not used for 60 years does not make us les...

Re: [RP]Cydonia Rising (OOC)

Flame throwers are illegal under the terms of the Geneva convention, along with white phosphorous grenades and napalm it is consider an 'Inhumane' weapon in that it causes pain and suffering unproportinate with the purposes of a given conflict. If you are fighting the goal is to kill the other guy, ...

Re: [RP]Cydonia Rising [IC]

Wolffe looked over Roland thoroughly after he changed into the EVA suit. He appreciated his second in command's ability to think for himself, as Wolffe had not considered using the full EVA suits to make the recovery. Wolffe instead had strapped himself in to the harness of an EVA pack; a pack desig...

Re: [RP]Cydonia Rising [IC]

Finally NOT on the Cydonia - Wolffe stood just behind and between the pilot and his copilot watching and listening to the readouts intently. As the copilot made his report Wolffe responded immediately and decisively. "Set a course for that IR signature and get us there as fast as you can. Don't wor...

Re: [RP]Cydonia Rising (OOC)

Well, I wouldn't be too quick to judge the human side for lack of interaction. So far the Loroi have had to finish the fight, make a mad dash to the shuttle, then were all in a cramped location all together. Meanwhile aboard the Cydonia we had a Marine standing on the bridge waiting for orders and w...

Re: [RP]Cydonia Rising (OOC)

Given how much posting you do I don't see why you would be unable to pull off two characters. :D I for one think you could handle it.

Provided Suederwind gives the nod, then I certainly do want you as the shuttle pilot.

Re: [RP]Cydonia Rising (OOC)

Sorry to hear that sunphoenix, I happen to be a big Stormrage fan. She's the only Unsheathed that I am aware of and an important part of the Loroi's escape and survival.

Re: [RP]Prelude-Cydonia Rising [IC: 'Dying Embers']

Meanwhile aboard the Cydonia - Amid the incoming reports and the Bridge staff eagerly watching their instruments Wolffe listened to the Captain's revised instructions. Taking along the Lt. Commander was unusual, but it was understandable given the gravity of the situation they were now in. From wha...

Re: [RP]Cydonia Rising (OOC)

I would imagine given the size of the vessel and the limited capacity in which the Marines have to function there would be approximately 12-14 aboard the Cydonia. Their duties would consist of general duties and maintenance tasks, but their big mission/mandate would be to form the boarding party in ...

Re: [RP]Cydonia Rising (OOC)

... Beliskner your post is either going to need some heavy revision or you are going to get a scathing in character response. Chief is a non commissioned rank, Wolffe is commissioned and his title is Security Officer. There is no excuse for not recognizing someone's rank, and even less for disrespec...

Re: [RP]Cydonia Rising (OOC)

Of course I do not mind Suederwind, thank you for understanding. For gameplay's sake it's fine, though this kind of thing would not fly in reality. Provided the First Officer is along in an observer capacity and the Marines run the show during the boarding it's good. You're doing a good job my frien...

Re: [RP]Cydonia Rising (OOC)

I assure you there is no Navy in the world that uses 'Away Teams' like in Star Trek and a First Officer would never be part of a Boarding Party. Delegation of duty is a big part of Command. You use your Gunners to accomplish Gunner's Objectives, you use your Marines to carry out Marine's Objectives,...
