Re: Homeworld 3 Announced
I believe they were limited by the hardware of the time? I wonder if they’ll bring back the Turret Frigate idea.

Re: Homeworld 3 Announced
The Fig campaign has concluded, raising more than $1,500,000. Apparently that's the most that's ever been raised for an RTS, and Gearbox will be providing the majority of the funding.

Re: Homeworld 3 Announced
There's a new update on the Fig campaign, with new information demonstrating dynamic hull damage, reminds me of Star Trek Bridge Commander: https://www.fig.co/campaigns/homeworld3/updates/991 ______ Time for an art update! As we're going through pre-production, the art team is thinking about how to ...

Re: Homeworld 3 Announced
They've released some concept art. This one looks to be an ion frigate, based on some of the other art. Looks like a cross between Vagyr and Taidaan. https://fig-images.imgix.net/https%3A%2F%2Fplayfig.s3.amazonaws.com%2FCampaignMediaItem%2Fimage%2Fcampaign_media_item%2F2019%2F09%2F10%2F82c28dd1-bb34...

Homeworld 3 Announced
Gearbox Software has put up a Fig crowdfunding campaign for Homeworld 3: https://www.fig.co/campaigns/homeworld3 The crowdfunding does not appear to be strictly necessary, but enacted just as a way to involve fans. Unfortunately, at this time there appears to be some uncertainty about Epic Game Stor...

Re: Miscellaneous Loroi question-and-answer thread
I don't know if this has been discussed previously, but how to Teidar use their powers in combat? Is telekinesis their primary weapon, or do they use it in support of conventional weapons, similar to biotics in the Mass Effect series? What form of attack to they favor? Lightning bolts out of their h...

Well, there is good news; The Expanse is coming to Amazon Prime for a fourth season. Hopefully they can run with it:

Re: Sci-Fi/Space Opera Shows (Current or Upcoming) On Stream
I watched Dark Matter when it was on the air, until it ended with a cliff-hanger. That's about the worst, I think. Haven't seen Disco Stu, don't really feel its worth shilling out for a streaming service just to see that one show.

Sci-Fi/Space Opera Shows (Current or Upcoming) On Streaming
I have officially reached my wit's end with cable, upon which no good sci fi or space opera show can survive. With The Expanse not being renewed for a fourth season, I have it in my mind to leave Syfy for good. Are there any good shows on any streaming services, either current or upcoming, that are ...

Homeworld: Cataclysm (Emergence) Rerelease
I hadn't seen this posted here, and I figured a lot of folks would want to know. I just found out recently that Homeworld: Cataclysm has been rereleased on gog.com as Homeworld: Emergence. Apparently the rename's due to copyright reasons. Now, the game can have trouble running on modern systems, but...

Re: Homeworld Remastered 2.0
I'll have to try this again. Remembered that when I first got this version, I was disappointed, especially in the remastering of the original campaign.

Re: Miscellaneous Loroi question-and-answer thread
A thought I had, based on the earlier discussion of the Loroi and entertainment; what would the Loroi think of Shakespeare's Julius Caesar?

Re: Miscellaneous Loroi question-and-answer thread
Something I'm wondering about Loroi physiology; how exactly does it compare to human? I know they were genetically engineered, but I was wondering what sort of trade-offs were made, compared to humans, in making them the way they are now.

Re: "The Expanse" New Show on SyFy
Even if a chemical rocket engine is used, the missiles should still produce oblong drive plumes, rather than leaving streaks through space. Babylon 5, The Last Starfighter, and now the Expanse did this right, as opposed to Battlestar Galactica. I understand that it's an artistic trope, but it's one ...

"The Expanse" New Show on SyFy
Well, I've recently caught up with the new TV show on SyFy called The Expanse (That is, seen up to Episode 4) and thought I'd like to discuss it. It certainly seems to be the hardest sci fi show I've seen, at least as far as Space Opera-type shows go. Space travel seems highly Newtonian, and their s...

Arioch, just out of curiosity, now that you are making (a small amount of) income from the comic, have you considered advertising it?
