Alex made his opinions about Fireblade (and to a lesser extent, Beryl) pretty much clear - the less he sees of Fireblade, the better it is. Or so he thinks. Maybe I'm overthinking the page, but is Beryl truly that adorable, or is she deliberately using mannerism that a human male would find "cute"? If it is the second option, how can she know how to "act" in such a way?

I wonder how many of Beryl´s mannerisms, specially smiles, are deliberate. Considering Loroi seems to favor sanzai over facial expression and the other races may have another sets of non verbal signals... is she actually picking up from Alex´s own mien?

Do loroi feel "Uncanny valley" effect when they see humans? Don't know about Loroi, but once one of russian readers said, that blue skinned Loroi looks for him like some kind of undead zombi. But it's rare case. The lack of facial expression or verbal communication of most Loroi certainly don't help.

I think paranoia may become their greatest adversary: the Loroi are trapped in a close space inside a ship playing dead, forced to wait and hope the Umiak don't find them before their allies, and in the company of a weird almost Loroi-looking alien immune to sanzai and for what they know could still...
