Re: Bennet Class Model + Design Speculation
Always saddened me a little how cool/fleshed out the human stuff was given how little a role it (seemingly) plays in the story

Re: Page 226: Whirrrrr CRACK
Alex... Alex... Did you learn nothing from Thanos? You should have gone for the head! Alex actually could have been aiming for the head but the hardtrooper just had greater horizontal velocity than Alex could track. A bit more to the right and his shot would have been grazing its head if not plinki...

Re: Page: 225 - Krak, KRAK!! WHOKK!!!
I developed the opinion that charging patreon for uncolored pages and then not publishing until they were colored is a bit of a strategy mistake because the public comic is how new patrons are recruited (and more pages need to keep churning out to make money so no time to color them)

Re: Forum Issues
You should get another page colored and post it so we can talk about it to test the issue

You should release STLs for some parts based on the reference 3d models you have, that way I can steal them for my own purposes 3d print them for fun.

Re: Miscellaneous Loroi question-and-answer thread
I guess if they got their hands on a farseer they could presumably have found some way to evaluate artificial means of reducing their own psychic cross section. They could then go on to spend many years happily experimenting away at that for however long their poor test subject(s) lasted.

Re: Merry Christmas 2023 everyone!
Well, I think I agree with you, at any rate I think humans deserve privileged treatment. But, this ai thing needs to be handled carefully. In the past the idea of drawing inspiration was seen as good, but only as long as you weren’t making a blatant copy, as you so astutely pointed out. I proclaim t...

Re: Merry Christmas 2023 everyone!
To be honest I think it’s likely a distinction without a clear and technically definable difference and don’t really like the implications of ‘it’s cool as long as neurons do it’ we have already had various animals neurons isolated in a dish and used for various purposes.

Re: Merry Christmas 2023 everyone!
The reason I take issue with that interpretation is people look at eachothers art and draw stylistic 'inspiration' all the time, which is apparenly legal. In other words, analzying the artwork, whether in public or in the privacy of your own home, and using your brain to make decisions about what as...

Re: Merry Christmas 2023 everyone!
Yea thats kindof what I meant by 'lawfare', you could probably in many cases trick an AI into producing something subjectively similar and get the company that made or provided access to it in trouble. It would be a fairly draconian thing to make it a question of whether the court thought the output...

Re: Are Loroi Women Better Than Human Women?
That’s interesting, you can signal a stem cell to turn into an egg and it will just do it. Egg cells are pretty complicated (amongst other things they are massive compared to normal cells, and filled with a bunch of additional machinery, at least in humans) so I mistakenly assumed the cells needed s...

Re: Are Loroi Women Better Than Human Women?
Well, 'just use skin cells lmao' implies that all that is needed is DNA, which is not the case. The egg cell has a whole lot of work to do to set conditions and properly kick off the process so that you get an actual human instead of a teratoma or whatever. Not that it would necessarily be impossib...

Long term planning probably isn't totally pointless, if they survive the current crisis they will presumably still be at war.

Re: Are Loroi Women Better Than Human Women?
Ah, I did assume there was a shortfall of qualified applicants, in which case hypothetically a larger population would help with that in the long term. If thats not the case then indeed there is truly no point.

Re: Merry Christmas 2023 everyone!
Yeah good point you’d need to do a fair bit of extra work to try to make sure to break those relationships in the model, a court could conceivably do as you said. It might make it not worth it to illegally use information since de facto these businesses are automatically trusting search engine corol...

There isn't going to be any way to dissect a model and know what its contents are based off of, so its an unenforceable law.

Re: Merry Christmas 2023 everyone!
I'd kindof prefer people just outlaw AI or something, instead of doing this nonsense where they try to explain how this was always not allowed. No, this was always not possible, so there was no reason to think about whether its allowed or not.
