Re: Miscellaneous Loroi question-and-answer thread
A more derogatory term for workers sometimes used by warriors is sinadas , "fallen." This somehow reminds me of Hongkong in the 90ies, where the chinese people called the british expats "filth" - "Failed In London, Try Hongkong"... But seriously, i appreciate your effort with the Loroi la...

Re: Replace Alex With a Gigachad Who Acted Like A Gig... How Would The Story Be Different? Funny and Serious Answers Wel
A six foot Loroi male would be like an eight foot human male... possible, but I think unlikely, given that ultra-tech medicine would probably correct the sorts of medical disorders that could lead to such an outcome. Hm, "correct"? 8-) Or - the ruling females like their toyboys small and nimble... ...

Or beer belly men?
I mean, they´ve never seen fat huge men bevor?
Or, more close to the topic: Arioch, are some few Loroi men exceptionally tall? Like 6 ft tall?

Re: Miscellaneous Loroi question-and-answer thread
Genetic analysis also allows some insight into the deeper past, using the "molecular clock" to track changes and mutations over deep time to establish a rough framework and timeline for the evolution of a species and its divergence from other related species. This analysis does not reveal much for ...

Re: Miscellaneous Loroi question-and-answer thread
You could ask the Farseer if she thinks she detected something during the fraction of a second that a ship is in hyperspace, but even if she says 'yes,' there's no way I can think of to test whether this detection was real or imagined. I my "theory" about "farseeing" i don´t think minds do have an ...

Re: Miscellaneous Loroi question-and-answer thread
"My bet is still, that Farseers do not detect minds directly, but their impact on the fabric of sub- or Hyperspace, since farseeing is FTL" Jumping ships are only in hyperspace for a fraction of a second, so I think this would be difficult to prove one way or another. I don`t think jumps and minds ...

Re: Miscellaneous Loroi question-and-answer thread
That would be poor writing if such an important question was left unanswered, in my opinion. 😁 No insult! But interesting, which questions remain unanswered... 8-) ;) . Or: If our heroes bring back the whole Umiak-ship, would Loroi-Scientists be able to find out if some genetic modifications caused...

Re: Miscellaneous Loroi question-and-answer thread
Since i love to speculate about how the Umiak are now able to "troll" Farseers - is here the key to this phenomenon? ;) I'm not sure what your question is driving at. The current issue with Farseer detection of certain Umiak fleets is not that they're looking for Umiak but finding something unexpec...

Re: Miscellaneous Loroi question-and-answer thread
What Farseers do is detect the signatures of distant minds. They don't read messages or thoughts or otherwise communicate. The Deinar Loroi were not able to communicate with the Loroi on Perrein until they sent ships there. That brings me back to my question from Saturday: Sounds a bit impractical....

Re: Miscellaneous Loroi question-and-answer thread
The short answer is "no," but I'll expand on that. Thank you very much. Hm. So Farseers cannot "read" other minds over interstellar ranges, but merely "feel" their presence... So when 803 CE Farseers on Deinar telepathically detected the Loroi population on Perrein, were they able to somehow "shout...

Re: Miscellaneous Loroi question-and-answer thread
I´m so free, and "shuffle" your answer a bit... The main concern with information security is just information slipping out during normal conversation, so if there's a pressing need for secrecy, the group with that knowledge is just isolated in a separate physical location I see. The range of normal...

Re: Page: 225 - Krak, KRAK!! WHOKK!!!
If thats true, hopefully Alex immediately and reflexively dialed it up to 8, because otherwise he is screwed. The dial seems to be in the same position as on p214. (BTW: Are most Loroi left-handed? Because Beryl referred to the dial as "...here at your thumb" - while Alex obviously shoots right-han...

Re: Page: 225 - Krak, KRAK!! WHOKK!!!
Which still seems strange - between Beryl and Alexander, she is presumably the more well-trained in marksmanship (having been trained during a time of total war, for a navy posting, OTOH she as a Listel is in a mere "administrative" position. The GURPS-sheet shows, too - compared to Fireblade her c...

Back to 225: Beryl´s blaster rifle obviously did nil damage to the trooper.
Is Aley going to switch to "8", aka "full throttle"?
Or is Beryl just a lousy marksman, and "4" will do?

Narrat Ziradin , meaning 'Noble.' As close of a translation as I can get for 'Brian.' Nice1. And the UFO scene would just be a very confused Narrat Ziradin getting taken for a joyride by two Historians on their first (and last, as it turns out) unsupervised shuttle flight). Good one - did...

"Life of Narrat"...
Wasn´t the UFO-scene happening right after that (pursuit)?
