Re: WIP Discussion (Part 1!)

physical violence seems not to take place in this universe, there is the use of large objects called 'space ships' which is a far more commonly used element.

as should we all ah - such wonderful white haired youthful blue skin ... praise be to Hemocyanins!

Also it's lovely to see the set backgrounds being so full of detail and perspective.

Re: INTRODUCTION THREAD

Welcome. My name is Thomas, my profile name came to me after a bad tofu eating experiment. I am from Western Australia and I enjoy the thoughts as well as the art behind this webcomic. I've been posting here for a bit now. Hope to continue posting reasonably intelligent comments without being drawn ...

Re: WIP - concept characters page (spoilers ??)

I like the partial Psionics concept - post battle wearyness results in tired hair styles.

Love the pic shown Jim. :) very Grinworthy.

WIP - concept characters page (spoilers ??)

I was looking at the characters here, admiring the effort and beauty of these stock working artwork characters. http://www.well-of-souls.com/outsider/concept_characters.html I have wondered at how long hair can work as a visual device in SFF, and I wonder at the effort required to maintain the hairs...

Re: Page 98

The free flowing hair yet tightly armoured bodies clashed with me on first viewing. However, if it's meaningful for the Loroi culturally and ritualistically, I look forward to this unfolding. But ... Hair ... it's so expressive. I await unfolding discoveries.

I would be offended if there were more.

I would ... I would try really really hard to be offended ... the last one didnt quite do it though - can we try again? And please, more international symbols of telepathic panties presences, just to really test my offendabilities ...

Re: Page 95: I'd rarely EVER pass up a chance to annoy Calla

i thought it was just "touch wood"? also, run widdershins!!?!?! dare i hope of finding yet another discworld fan? We used to say something in the car as kids, then look around to find something in the car that was not wood. We ended up touching our own head (presuming we are as thick as a plank) an...

NOMAD wrote: a good contrast with alex own admission that he speaking his mind too often. Its shows a mature young man, beneath snarky exterior.

Very nice page, Arioch. I like the subtle hinting of Alex's potential.

Re: The vessel that destroyed Bellarmine

Yes - however I dont know if we know all the protagonists. We see the two factions - those on the side of the Loroi and the Umiak. Humanity was an unknown and disbelieved fable until Alexander was rescued. That this fable was held a secret suggests a third force. The Umiak seems to be a hive mind, t...

Page 94 - "The fleet boys don't like it when we poach ..."

A most interesting bit of character exposition here: and we are seeing a fascinating young ensign graduate with many talents & attributes, who is the sole survivor of a scout ship exploration. Loved this page Jim, the dialogue reads really nicely and we are getting a good hint into how he works from...

Re: Page 93

Agreed Greyhome - although it looks like our little ensign is a bit of a Captain Kirk in his ability to generate respect from his teachers. Still, I like it. It gives a bit of background that was sorely missing about what it is that was known before sending out Humanity to this new test of an interg...

Re: Page 91

The whole notion of gaining one's trust from a warlike distrustful ship of powerful capable and mysterious women has yet to really enter Alex's mind, but he has reacted well, speaking his native language, but speaking a childish song, with emotion. It's a bit bizzare, but its safety seems sound to m...

Well, I thought that it was a nice option to be placing into the storyline. Now that is a magnificent sight, a missile that opens up to reveal numerous little missiles - all on their merry way to dance with the defences of the opposition. I like that concept. I always consider the difference between beam type weapons (which can be defended with by a mirrored hull) and missi...
