Re: Insider, Updates

Here's a question I've been curious about, what's Loroi humor like? Beryl, proved that there are somethings that the Loroi think are funny, so their not all a bunch of fatalistic warrior stoics. I assume that because of their telepathy their humor doesn't involve misunderstandings and I don't think...

Re: sci-fi creative writting tips?

The only Star Wars books I've really delved into were the X-Wing novels, the series split by Michael Stackpole and Aaron Allston. I've read a few others, but man were those great.

Has anyone read the comics? I'd like to read those sometime, but can't find 'em nearby.

Re: Distraction thread

I was actually adamantly not excited for Halo 4 until I watched Forward Unto Dawn.

It wasn't a real masterpiece, but it was cool, tied in to the books, and gave me the shakes with that music and some of the dialogue.

But I'll admit I'm pretty easy when it comes to stuff like that.

Re: Insider, Updates

Now that you mention it, it would be pretty awesome to set up some minis. Seems like it'd be hard to do anything ground-based in the current war that doesn't defy canon, but might be neat to come up with some odd scenarios. I'm excited for Loroi chess, though. If Alex plays, I look forward to seeing...

Re: Insider, Updates

What about less insidious media, like news (although news shows are fairly insidious too these days, I think you know what I mean)? How much does the average Loroi civvy know about the Big Space Fightin'?

I imagine there's a lot of propaganda on the streets, but do they buy into it?

Re: Insider, Updates

Do muscular male loroi have a fetish following like muscle girls do here on Earth? I don't think bodybuilding would be considered a normal pastime for most Loroi males, and the Loroi don't really have a media culture to support that kind of thing. But I suppose with a population as large and divers...

Re: Distraction thread

My favorite books are the X-Wing series by Michael Stackpole. There are a few by Aaron Allston in the middle too. I've been looking for the comics for a little while now, but they're a bit scarce. As far as the big purchase goes, I've kinda been trying to avoid thinking about it. I don't know if I t...

Re: Alpha Centauri B b

For a planet around either star, the secondary star would provide significant illumination, so there would be two "day" periods that would overlap to varying degrees during the year. "Night" would only occur during the parts of the year when the planet was on the opposite side of both stars. Then t...
