Re: Outsider Wargaming - Polar Projections and Orbital Maneu

Attack Vector: Tactical does have some rules for fighting within planetary gravity wells, but in all honesty, I never considered them to be particularly worth the effort. However, they are there should one desire to use them.

Re: Couple questions

If Stillstorm is an example, that doesn't automatically turn out to be the case. She's a reknown commander, but still stuck at her post since we don't know how long (IIRC, it has something to do with bad political choices/opinions) . So she's not really a good example, is she? Promotion is not nece...

Re: Couple questions

Praise for soldiers, even warriors, inspires confidence and high morale. When someone from your platoon, squad, or regiment gets a medal (or similar item of recognition) recognising their valour, courage and heroism in the heat of battle, it vicariously raises the morale of everyone they meet or ha...

Yeah, I thought that whole show was pretty clearly a denouncement of the American/Western democratic ideal.

I see what you're saying. I thought you had meant from the Seren front, not the system itself.

Re: Map of the Steppes (Seren-Tinza) Front

So, assuming Kikitik is telling the truth, Umiak forces are several weeks travel behind Loroi lines?

That'll ruin your day.

Re: Page 88

A single shot from a human cruiser in Outsider, if it connects, can severly damge or even destroy a Loroi ship. But it won't. And that's the heart of the issue. It's all well and good to say "if this" and "if that," but it just isn't going to happen. The difference betwen old and new seems to wane ...

Re: Farsense and Sensibility.

That's more of a Farseer kind of thing. Clearly a bunch of hippies. They don't "commune with the machine spirit" or "dance to the music of the stars" do they? In all seriousness: do Farseers apply any mysticism to their "craft"? (Or has any grown up around it, either within their ranks or without?)

Re: Page 88

Back to WW2, we supplied the soviets with just about everything, except tanks(the soviet ones were pretty damned good), which their economy was then able to focus on. You're focusing on chinese plastic crap and not on liberty ships, trucks, and other product analogs. A merchant vessel doesn't need ...

For want of a sandwich, mustard was sought.
For want of mustard, a ship was shot.
For want of a ship a war was fought.
And all for the want of a sandwich.
