Re: 172: See something you like?

I'm wondering if we're gonna get a lore dump of Terra in the year 2020 where out of control, wild gangs of augmented humans had to be put down, and strictly regulated for their punk attitudes, and reckless trigger disciplines. The infamous 2034 hipster/apple synthesis, when the 'teched in' finally ...

Yep, I think it's pretty clear from the sequence of panels 3 & 4. I'm sure he's seen a backside before, and I reckon that if this were a 'busted' moment, panels 4 & 5 would have been swapped.

You know, her face looks quite different when not framed by her amplifier. I imagine people will keep their distance from her lest she accidentally murder them in her sleep or something. (PTSD + combat telekinetic = why the heck is she on active combat duty?[\i]) I’m guessing Talon and Spiral will s...

Re: Backwater

They may not know half of those words yet but once the crew does some quick research on the local net for this "porn" that the pretty male spoke about our friendly Loroi will be far more knowledgeable about the human mating customs they need to follow in order to claim a mate-for-life. Count down t...

Oh my, all the academics will have a field day. One wonders what the Loroi authorities would make of small but energetic hordes of academics attempting to go everywhere and get into everything.

How about we keep it simple (and not too likely to cause diplomatic incidents)?

If he’s starving and can find hot water it’ll probably taste delicious. If made with cold water there may be no redemption. Thinking about it, self heating ration packs may be a Bad Plan in a spacecraft because a) it’s extra weight that isn’t food and b) very small risk of the ration locker catching...

The local pizza chain http://www.hell.co.nz offers dessert pizzas. Which are... not bad but really odd. And must be kept warm in the oven while you eat your main pizza.

Edit: desert <> dessert

It's often shocking how secularists come off as being even more cringeworthy than the most committed of theologians. Yeah, there are some real arsehole atheists out there. I've often thought "you don't have to believe but you should at least show some respect ." ...Maybe Alex can share a song with ...

Re: Page 170: What I fear...

Well, that’s some depth of character right there for Tempo. I feel nitpicky - especially ‘cause I can barely manage stick figures - but I think Tempo’s hands were a little small versus her face in the last 2 frames. Edit: now listening to sad songs in honour of Tempo's death of the soul. Options so ...

I guess there’s dialogue to go with it - Arioch has a knack for not giving the scene away - but I’m not sure what it is. So now I’m trying to come up with silly dialog to match the nervous smile... Possible candidates: ”There was a mixup at the factory once, and when I pull this tab we find out if i...

Re: How to Make Mecha Work in a realish setting

I'm curious to know what would happen if a defense contractor decided to throw minor scruples like 'operator safety' and 'nuclear proliferation' out the window and miniaturized a fast fission reactor as much as they possibly could. I’m no nuclear engineer, but I understand that there would be issue...

Re: How to Make Mecha Work in a realish setting

Maybe - maybe! You could make a case for large construction mechs in low / micro gravity environments. That would help on the square-cube law by reducing structural loads a bit. Non-combat operations would also mean that the armour is only rated for micrometeorites and tools dropped a few orbits ago...

Re: Page 169: The most messed up!

That is funny. While the Star Wars fighters were cool and I love those sequences (they stand up suprisingly well for their age!), they were concerned with spectacle and not realism... I heard a rumour that the fighter tactics were inspired by WW1 aerial combat, which is why it's up close and persona...
