Re: [RP]Cydonia Rising (OOC)
Is there a possibility that I could join the game, take over an abandoned character or "pilot" a previous NPC? I confess that it has been in excess of 10 years since I last played a tabletop RPG, but I would like to give it a shot. What mandatory prerequisites would I need, aside from re-reading the...

Re: WIP Discussion (Part 1!)
Finding it quite amusing, what ideas people have regarding the object in Talon's hand, I'll keep my guess quite grounded and say it's a flashlight/portable emergency lamp kind of thing

Re: Miscellaneous Loroi question-and-answer thread
I suspect that the loroi would have lot's of "warriors", people that are part of warrior casts bur see little if any combat. *** What will you do with someone that past all the tests as a warrior but have what is required to be a brilliant engineer? Yes, they do. And you sort them into the so calle...

Re: What does YOUR Name Mean?
Welcome to the forum, Watermist! So, my spoken/written name means "kind and noble little girl from the woodland clearing." *** If you combine my spoken/written name with my signed name, it means "kind, noble, and happy little girl from the woodland clearing." I second Krulle and Jericho, and add to ...

Re: MoO II races and their parallels in Outsider
I'll try to find some images later, but if you care to, compare the picture of the Antaran Leader with the Historian Hologram. The latter seems rather close to the image of a skeleton of the former. Cross reference that with their advanced technology, highly telepathy adverse nature, and guardiansh...

Re: What does YOUR Name Mean?
My given name means "Chieftain/Ruler" and my family name could be interpreted as "familiar/close man", so for the Loroi I could call myself "The Ruling Man who is Close and Familiar" which may not sit very well with them

Re: Pages 144, 145: Conserve Energy
For what it's worth, I would classify the SW movies either as soft sci-fi or science fantasy for the widely known factors such as insanely over-the-top and inconsistent power/energy levels, incoherent and weak science aspect overall and the force, but the last one is not the key point. Other univers...

I need to say, since the previous page I don't recognize Beryl anymore, it's as if there's a completely different person.

Re: Miscellaneous Loroi question-and-answer thread
Loroi have different biochemistry from any earth mammal, and they completely unrelated to any earth live. They share exterior appearance with humans, but the resemblance ends there. Classifying them as Homo Sapiens offshoot is like classifying T-1000 as Homo Sapiens Poly-alloyal because it looks th...

Re: Miscellaneous Loroi question-and-answer thread
It seems that loroi use fighters mostly for anti missile job now... Why they are not using somthing like Vulture droids or Tie/Droid? You cam literally carry 4 of them instead of 1 piloted fighter, or even carry them outside the hull without fear. Two reasons - AI is unreliable and politics. The qu...

Re: Miscellaneous Loroi question-and-answer thread
Strictly speaking they fulfill the mammalian criteria: 1) They are Endothermic verterbrates (they produce their own heat and have spines). 2) They have mammary glands to nurse their children. 3) They give live births. My question is such because they are a bio engineered species, they have obviousl...

Re: Miscellaneous Loroi question-and-answer thread
In some of the discussions it has been implied or assumed, and "extended universe" stories stated, that loroi can sense the minds/presence of some higher animals and give some of them commands telepathically, not quite mind control, but, for example, telling a bird to fly away now and stop singing. ...

Re: Page 142-143: Tsk, here's mommy
Speaking of which, how would the Loroi handle something like the Alien situation. I assume far more easily, insofar as they are telepathic and militaristic. I agree, it would probably not turn into much of a "situation" with the loroi being telepathic, able to exchange thoughts with each other tele...

Re: WIP Discussion (Part 1!)
While the Umiak don't have ship classes as we and the Loroi understand them, they still do have, let's say, general design guidelines and specifications. By that I mean that, say, Umiak missile cruisers built by different shipyards on different planets vary in size, loadout and individual design, bu...

Re: Miscellaneous Loroi question-and-answer thread
It's been firmly established that the Loroi use doors as we understand them and apparently also lock them. While I have no doubts that starting with the digital age and on one can quite easily make an unpickable or unbypassable lock, but I wonder, how did the Loroi keep their doors, cars, jail cells...

Re: WIP Discussion (Part 1!)
The only thing we can say for sure is that the attacking ship was a) not a standard Loroi Navy design, b) not a standard Umiak Navy design and c) not a Barsam courier and d) about heavy destroyer or light cruiser sized. We haven't seen any other ships built by other factions, nations, species or eve...

Re: Page 142-143: Tsk, here's mommy
While this makes sense from a hyperrealistic perspective (i.e., how things might really happen in such a situation), it doesn't really move the plot or advance the story in any meaningful way, so I doubt we'll have too many panels of the gang sitting around (unless used as a flashback opportunity, ...

Re: WIP Discussion (Part 1!)
It's also entirely possible that Arioch himself doesn't know who shot down the Bellarmine because it's irrelevant. It could be the Historians (my top choice because clearly the Umiaks are using tech that is beyond them and the Historians are the only ones known to possess tech that is beyond everyon...
