Re: Page: 118

Following that thought it would even be more prudent to stay out of sight for as long as possible, or at least a little while longer. But I see the point... Earth has little to offer, and at that point rather little to lose. The Orgus painted a dark picture of the Loroi, but an even darker picture ...

Re: Page: 118

Is anyone else a bit concerned we just gave away our position? no that was the whole point of this little exercise anyway and more to the point time is not on Alex's side. there were 5 other scout ships and if one of them went with the bugs things could bet bad quick so Alex has to get the loroi an...

Re: Page 117: I will demonstrate!

the biggest problem with the genocide idea is that it makes no sense from a story telling perspective. the comic is about Alex and his quest to find out who destroyed his ship, in fact the whole Loroi/Umiak war will likely be eclipsed by this quest by the end of the story. honestly there is no way f...

Re: Page 88

As I mentioned before, though they had visibly distinct results, the actual changes in external form weren't that complicated, and could even have been forecast with some expectation of accuracy given the trends in more gracile, erect homnids with larger forebrains being more successful. Even if th...

Re: Page 88

Indeed so if the Soia are experts at XYZ manipulation and have never encountered DNA before it would surely be easier for them to construct specific physical properties in a XYZ based engineered species than learn DNA and modify an existing species to their requirements. To look at it from a softwa...

Re: Page 88

I haven't checked the time-lines, but I think that humans are the base species for the Loroi. I think the soia re-wrote the genes of species with interesting abilities into their own "template" genetic code, maybe through some degree of trial and error, but once they had a viable species "copy" (or...

Re: Page 88

Here’s the biggest problem I see with any per human being the base for the loroi. the difference between loroi and humans is the same as two identical shaped statues made of marble and bronze. They are made by different people using different techniques and with different materials with different ph...

Re: Farsense and Sensibility.

Something to think about is just because it's "extra-dimensional" doesn't mean it has to be hyperspace related. arioch's graphs shows there is at least a "sub space" as well and who knows what else. I mean I like the idea but making it a jump drive makes it just feels too easy for me. because to me ...

Re: Page 88

But they *did* get a very good look at the enemy ship . That information probably is recoverable. we're unlikely to see any black box data from the bell. this story isn't so much about the war as it is about who destroyed the bell. it seems to me if it was only a Umiak ship, special or not, there w...

Re: Page 88

That is an interesting Idea that kitkit has a new cloaking capability, in which case the bell's black box might have the best data on how it actually works. Still I don't see the Loroi being able to get such information in a timely manner. I highly doubt human sensors would be able to detect this j...

Re: Page 88

well if you think about it if the Umiak ships have a jammer on board then there will have to be loroi boarding action at some point. the loroi need to get there hands on one to find out how it works much like how the allied forces tried to capture the enigma machine in WWII. not that it would be eas...

Re: Page 88

Keeping in mind yes, the Loroi have a long history of bloodshed with the Umiak and are definitely biased in their opinions of their ancient enemy. Which, to me at least, all this points at perhaps Arioch's plot is not for 'the human' to help the Loroi destroy or defeat the hated enemy with his deed...

How would one click/chitter arrogantly anyways? tha's an interesting question to think about, kind of like the sound of one hand clapping... lol ah I bet the "We will finally put an end to this war" line has been said several times over the course of this war by both sides. The Umiak will enjoy a s...

Re: Page 88

interesting page but it goes to show you how war influences rational minds. (Beryl's little live to lie line) I don't think he is totally lieing. They may have deduced correctly that whoever was on that ship was unspotted(by virtue of being unintercepted) by the loroi and he's playing on that. And t...

Re: Concept Fanart of Future Terran Ship Designs

something I find funny about space ship design is that they always want to put the bridge on the outside? I get it that old real world ship did this but it makes no sense on a ship that advanced. even modern armies know this seeing as there are (at least) subs the bridge is in the middle of the ship...

Re: Page 87

@Ktrain I don't think it would really matter because the treaty between humanity and the loroi should be written up long before the loroi ever get to earth or even the tanker Alex wanted to take them too. I believe that’s why the loroi gave Alex the power to make all the choices without the needs of...

Humans almost always seem to want to see aliens as nobler and better than us. Realistically speaking the only Advantage humans have is the combo of our mind and hands. We can ...

Ahem. The best US fighter pilot had only 40 kills, and he didn´d survive the war. The best soviet pilot, Ivan Kozhedub, had 62.
