There are now three days left on the Kickstarter. They are currently at 542% funded. Still looking to get 670% funded for Voice Over work. There was an upswell yesterday as they have started to show off some of the artists that are involved as well as the classic ships in the updated style.
Ben Chandler (Star Wars: Dark Forces Remaster, The Forever Labyrinth, Nighthawks, An Airport for Aliens Currently Run by Dogs)

Arne aka AndroidArts, of UQM (and many other!) fan-art fame.

George Barr, original UQM illustrator and painter.

Robert Mauritson, longtime UQM fan-artist creating alien portraits

Tim Sjastad (Phantom Fury), ship and creature artist

They are authorizing a push. So, I push.

I have played Balatro a bit.
I've played the demo, but have been dragging ass on playing the full game because ADHD + the massive firehoses of Discord and YouTube.

Yeah, I am hyped....
First game in years I bought for myself.
First game ever I pre-ordered during development.

I am sooooo looking forward to the whole thing ... (although I am not a fan of voice-overs - most people read too slow for my liking).
The Ur-Quan Masters demo is out! (Former Super Melee)

After spending three months engrossed in Helldivers 2, I did a few playthroughs of Stellaris with a Barbaric Despoiler civ (which tended to get bodied) until finally returning to Kerbal Space Program 1.

Hmm... while I did want to see a retro aesthetic, I was hoping for more than a cheap-looking port of a 1992 game.

Some things have changed technologically. The ships are no longer restricted to 1992's era 16 points of rotation. Full 360 degrees of rotation now. The blind spots in various ship's weapon arcs are now gone. They intentionally went retro. Partly due to complaints about how SC3 looks and not to directly compete with Stardock's Star Control: Origins.

There's "retro," and then there's "I didn't make any significant improvements to this 34-year-old game."

They've been working on it for what... since at least 2018 when Star Control: Origins was released?

The combat part was well liked and the community wanted as little change with it as possible. The full story mode game has a bunch of new things in it. But that's later.

The RPG part doesn't look much different. I'd say it looks worse.

Pretty sure that was placeholder art from when they were working on the kickstarter two years ago. Not sure what it looks like right now.

The exact same art (and some atrocious voice-over) opens the video you just posted.

I'm not trying to rain on anyone's parade, just saying what's on my mind.
