Is is dead at 214? If so I am very sad that we lost an excellent webcomic.

Oh shit, here we go again...

No, comic isn't dead, just another pause.

Excellent webcomic
He's dead, Jim!Show
:o :P
Just kidding, Jim has posted a number of black&white previews on Patreon, he just hasn't found the time (or inspiration) to color those pages and upload them here. Patience, young padawan, this pause is yet comparatively small.

Indeed, look at the history of the page uploads.

We're still a far way from the comic being dead, which won't happen until the author is either dead or otherwise handicapped...

Nice! This means only another 81 Pages to go before supporting through other means! ;)

Jeez, you kids. In my day, we used to have to wait decades for the next issue of our favorite comic. And we liked it!

If we wanted comics, we had to draw them ourselves . . . on the cave wall!

Ha, this pause is nothing. Remember when we stared at page 102 for 801 days?

Hey, I wrote a novel sized fan fiction story for 365 days of that hiatus :P

In all seriousness though, I think that the current delay of the publishing of the half finished pages is because Arioch is focusing on building the 3D backgrounds for the upcoming pages. The black and whites on Patreon do show that said backgrounds are well built already but they need some more details

7 unfinished pages.  Is Jim building a comic buffer or waiting for a Patreon threshold to be reached?

Maybe he is just swamped with real-world issues.

He is a being swamped real-life - from what I understand, it may be a few more weeks for him to sort stuff out. Please be patient with him, I am sure we will all be rewarded for our patience!

↑ Sad to know that.

At least he has a lot of background data to sort through, and much of it buried is in the forums.  Collecting all that data and compiling it by subject should keep my interest for a few weeks.

Not so very long ago I found a small bookstore and decided to take a look inside. I managed to find a book that looked interesting. It cost 27.50 Euros and counted 275 pages. The backcover read that the price of the book was based on the number of pages: 10 cents per page. I could live with this novel idea of paying for a story per page and bought a copy.

Back home I started reading the book and reached the last page the next day. To my surprise the story was unfinished. A number of pages was clearly missing. So I went back to the bookstore with my copy, explained the situation and requested another, complete copy.

The woman behind the counter smiled and explained that the author had never finished the book. That he had lost interest and had turned his attention towards another project. When I asked for my money back, she smiled again and reminded me that I had received exactly what I had paid for: 275 pages of a story for 10 cents per page. Frustrated, I left.

This little, fictional tale is why I will never pay per page. Not in a bookstore and not on Patreon. A story must have a beginning, a middle and an ending. If any of these three parts is missing, the whole story is worthless.

I will gladly pay an author a sum for a complete story. But paying an author per page would leave the author with my money and me without a story should the author decide to abandon it. And that would make it an unequal exchange. ;)

I'm posting the new pages to Patreon today (as it's the end of the month), and I'll try to get page 215 posted to the site on Wednesday.

Good thing then that you're not being asked to pay to read the webcomic, as it's free.
