Sir, it is my great pleasure to inform you that the United States Army discontinued use of the telegraph sometime in the early 20th century - perhaps the general's staff is merely confused. And while I respect the general's rank, it apparently falls to me to describe the tribal, superstitious nature of the population of the region known as the "Well of Souls." Harsh, sometimes brutal punishment of taboo actions are necessary and preventative of further bloodshed. As commander on the ground, with significant experience in theater, my actions coincide with long-established tradition among those peoples of the Well of Souls, and are based on many years of hard-earned knowledge. The general is respectfully encouraged to mind his own business and leave these decisions to those with the experience to make them.

Failure to appear within 24 hours shall be considered desertion and punished accordingly.
