It means "Well said", as far as I recall in a early 20th century Brittish way of expressing agreement.

Re: Loroi Trade translation request general
Just a couple of translations, nothing special:
Names: Midnight (pannit to pannon ?), Eight Eye (mizii dostei ?), Willpower.
Ranks, If there's a Soroin Tiret (Counselor), what could she promote to, and how would such a rank be called? A Mystic, perhaps, or is there no such a specialist, and all advanced stuff is handled by the Nedathan instead?

midnight - neste
eight eye - mizii moi or nanmoi
strong-willed, willpower - beisi
A step up in rank for a general ship's counselor would be a Tiret-Toza, or senior counselor.
There would be a variety of specialist titles, but that is not currently defined.

@ARIOCH: By what name would your Loroi counterpart be known? I am guessing something like "Nedatan Dailin Dallai" ("Philosopher Adept Chaos", if we follow the Melnibonéan meaning of "Arioch").

The avatar doesn't have a title. The uniform is an outdated version of the Timadi, but the hairstyle looks most like Nilodi Dawnstar.Keklas Rekobah wrote: ↑Tue Dec 21, 2021 3:54 pm@ARIOCH: By what name would your Loroi counterpart be known? Do the Seers wear amplifiers, or is that device too large to wear?

No, those sorts of amplifiers are not wearable.Keklas Rekobah wrote: ↑Wed Dec 22, 2021 1:55 amDo the Seers wear amplifiers, or is that device too large to wear?

Now that we have seen what Loroi men look like, I can imagine some "status conflicts" between them and Terran space marines.Arioch wrote: ↑Wed Dec 22, 2021 12:24 amThe avatar doesn't have a title. Would you be willing to give the full 3-part Loroian names of these characters and their full translations? (i.e., "You see before you Nedatan Nilodi ______, but you may call me Dawnstar.")
Will we be seeing any GURPS character sheets on them?

Well, there might be a point where they can trump them?Keklas Rekobah wrote: ↑Wed Dec 22, 2021 4:23 pmNow that we have seen what Loroi men look like, I can imagine some "status conflicts" between them and Terran space marines.
What kind of skills are you even looking for?Keklas Rekobah wrote: ↑Wed Dec 22, 2021 4:23 pmWill we be seeing any GURPS character sheets on them?

Thanks for the link! I have a new webcomic to follow.
The skills would likely be G3E standard, plus the Loroi package -- not much different from those of Beryl, Fireblade, and Tempo -- thus, little or nothing to "spoil".

Re: Loroi Trade translation request general
The specific skills of the Timadi would spoil the farseers, I guess, and what kind of skills should the clergy have? Catholic priest joke
Anyway, we don't even have a character sheet for Stillstorm or Alex, so I don't think that the male ones are a priority. It might take quite a lot of time until they show up in the comic, after all.

Re: Loroi Trade translation request general
I was asking for a Loroi Trade translation of the word. :<
Re: Loroi Trade translation request general
It's Dozal Lenara. I believe both those words are already in the lexicon.

Re: Loroi Trade translation request general
So do the Loroi have a word for "love", "hate", or "fear"? Or do the Loroi have no real concept of love as we know it?
Re: Loroi Trade translation request general
In English we use the word "love" for a lot of different things. For the Loroi, intense affection (of a non-sexual kind) and sexual attraction are two different things.Quickdraw101 wrote: ↑Mon Apr 04, 2022 2:21 pmSo do the Loroi have a word for "love", "hate", or "fear"? "Platonic" love, affection: tiilad
sexual attraction, lust: denzis
like, enjoy: titai
beloved: ennin
friend: deizei
friendship: deizes
fear: sazas
fearsome: sazaset
heedless, dauntless: merope
dread: leined
hatred: rinnat
Re: Loroi Trade translation request general
The lexicon entry for “welcome” seems to be an adjective, not an interjection. What would you say in Loroi Trade when welcoming someone?
