I guess there’s dialogue to go with it - Arioch has a knack for not giving the scene away - but I’m not sure what it is. So now I’m trying to come up with silly dialog to match the nervous smile...

Possible candidates:
  • ”There was a mixup at the factory once, and when I pull this tab we find out if it’s a normal ration or an explosive.”
  • ”Now we find out what you think of human food.”
  • ”Oh, this is not the best ration for a closed environmental system.”
  • ”And now I have to decide between death by starvation and curry with pineapple in it.”
  • EDIT: “And now I have to decide between death by starvation and curry without pineapple in it.”

Hmm, I like it when there's pineapple in my curry.
Not that I'm a fan of curry itself....

*Anyone wants a try, to maybe get a feeling of what I went through the last days with your rations? Or maybe you even like our rations?*

To start with, I was thinking the Loroi would be gagging all over the place, then I remembered that NASA and the airforce specially engineered rations that wouldn't funk out an enclosed space to much..

So I'm expecting curiosity mainly from the ladies!

Pineapple in hot food is a contentious subject. My previous post has been modified to reflect this diversity of views :)

I also want to add my very diverse and balanced view on that subject:

I know. I just like it because it takes the curry sting a bit out of the curry....
I just hate raisins in processed food (cake, rice, ...).... Also a very debateable..

Hehehe, Sandra and Woo. Stopped reading that comic a while ago, but those guys had quite a few very good points made.

My mother used to put raisins in tuna casserole. Science still does not understand why.

And yes, Hawaiian pizza is a transgression against God and Man.

No kidding. Everyone knows that pineapple should be kept far, far away. Jalapenos however.....

Also Tempo might find Terran food...interesting based on her homeworld.

I discovered my atheism after the first slice. I'm fact I'm pending for excommunication.

The local pizza chain http://www.hell.co.nz offers dessert pizzas. Which are... not bad but really odd. And must be kept warm in the oven while you eat your main pizza.

Edit: desert <> dessert

Here (Netherlands) they sell pizza pancakes. (Pancakes instead of bread with the pizza toppings.)

Whatever you like is okay, IMHO.
Taste is really not debateable.

I suspect that the rations are bland, and have no extra gas causing properties. A ship full of gas passing astronauts is something out of a horror story......

This reminds me of somthing Gaijin Goomba did on Which Ninja, one of his shows on Youtube about Ninja food. They had to be comact and still provide more callories than a standard meal simply because of how far they had to travel, how much they could carry, and its not like a low class person could eat out.

THey also couldn't eat certainfoods as well some foods more than other produce more body odor and the odd smell might give yourself away.
