Love {E. Moon's} "Vatta's War!" Great set of books! Nice consistent SciFi. Would really love to read more of 'Admiral' Vatta!

Moon town, nice though the story isn't that developed, but i do like the design of the ship. quite not what we are used to.

crimson dark, real nice one here, great CG graphic nice update rate but (yes there always a but) story kind of heavy (too many important detail that get throw around and you end up lost) that and the high cybernetic-ation that human follow... kind of enjoys less a story were a pure human is considered weird.


i would like to add Dead space. yeah it science FICTION but wow real nice and the ambiance too kind of creepy.

Most anticipated space game that would crush me if it turns into vaporware:
Infinity: The Quest for Earth
Ever since I saw their procedural galaxy generator
Or their procedural cityscapes.
Or their seamless transition from space to planetside. (skip to about 5:45 for entry)
I never played freespace, but I hear the combat is kind of like that and thats supposedly a good thing.

I don't have a lot of sci-fi webcomics in my RSS feed, but I've got a couple that haven't been mentioned yet.

I'm really bad about getting around to reading books that are on my books to read list. Accelerando has been on my list for like a year now and I haven't had a chance to take a couple of days off and read it. So basically, my sample size isn't huge, but some memorable ones that come to mind:

Wasteland of Flint (Thomas Harlan) - Cant recommend this one enough. Read through it several years back and I've been meaning to read through it again to see if it holds up on second reading, but I think it is probably going to end up in my "favorites of all time," category.

The Outback Stars (Sandra McDonald) was pretty good. I still mostly remember it at least, which is usually a good sign for me. It had some interesting characters and a neat mystery to it.

Venus (Ben Bova) - The soap opera like characters were well nigh unbearable towards the end, but the tale of a descent into the atmosphere of Venus was quite memorable.

Freespace1/2. Shinning golden moments of the space shooter genre. Freespace2 brought beam weapons to games in a way I have never quite seen since. (All hail the BFRed). Moar beams!
Sins of a solar empire. single player is good. with friends multiplayer is excellent.
Freelancer. Exelent game with so many mods to choose from now.

I've read a lot of the books listed already...I've read Elizabeth Moon, Iain M Banks, and Alistair Reynold's series multiple times. If for no other reason I'd love The Culture just for their ship names

I also read the Honor Harrington novels by David Weber and the Dread Empire's Fall series by Walter Jon Williams among a pile of others. Frankly I'm running out of room to stick my books in

Freespace2 Beam weapon mechanics was genius.
It over came the problems beam weapons had of being overpowered due to instant hit and accurate.. or so weak or inaccurate they felt worse then projectile weapons, yet it never caught on.
