Re: WIP Discussion (Part 1!)
OK, so without angering the gods of update news, I'll just say that now that Arioch has his new Compy and such that I am hopeful things will start moving through the pipeline and into the comic soon.
Is it out of bounds to ask how much of the story Arioch has "fleshed out" and if there's stuff much further ahead that he hasn't decided on yet (as far at the story)?

I hope so too. Because the computer has been down for two weeks, I'm a bit backed up on (paying) work, but I'll catch up as quickly as I can.cacambo43 wrote:OK, so without angering the gods of update news, I'll just say that now that Arioch has his new Compy and such that I am hopeful things will start moving through the pipeline and into the comic soon.
The story arc is outlined from beginning to end. Some details change from the draft to the actual page (some characters and situations have become more complex), and dialogue usually isn't written until the actual page is done (because it changes to fit the panels as they're drawn), but the larger picture has remained pretty consistent up to this point. There is some room in the middle where I could add subplots if I felt the need to, but I suspect that won't be necessary.cacambo43 wrote:Is it out of bounds to ask how much of the story Arioch has "fleshed out" and if there's stuff much further ahead that he hasn't decided on yet (as far at the story)?
Re: WIP Discussion (Part 1!)
Thanks for that, Arioch. Trying to pace myself through the Insider information to tide me over... very difficult to hold back.

But it's very highly recommended. Subplots are the hallmark of any popular, long-running story.Arioch wrote:There is some room in the middle where I could add subplots if I felt the need to, but I suspect that won't be necessary.

Once I cash in this Power Ball ticket... I'm sure its a winner, I'll employ Arioch full time to finish the comic. Checking the ticket now...
um... so when I cash in the 'next' Power Ball ticket....

Re: WIP Discussion (Part 1!)
Arioch, will there be more flashbacks showing what the crew of the Bellarmine was up to before it was attacked (i.e., training, more discussions of the Orgus contact, what Ellen and Alex did to get booted out of the bridge, etc.)? I realize some readers might think that those story-lines could go so that you can focus on the main story-line, but I think they are essential in making the story more "real" and the characters more believable.

Plus they'd make good filler
Also the Space Coast? Small world huh

Re: WIP Discussion (Part 1!)
I just hope he can find time and peace of mind to move the story along more regularly, and I couldn't be too upset with him if that filler was dropped in order to finish the comic before he turns 80CJ Miller wrote:Plus they'd make good filler

Do you also live in Brevard County? What part?

Re: WIP Discussion (Part 1!)
So, we're gonna see (simulated) human space combat?
And very cold and calculating use of fighters, which will horrify the local pilots?

Re: WIP Discussion (Part 1!)
Along that point, one reason the comic has such a following is because of the depth of the universe. Anything that can add to that depth is a Good Thing™.I realize some readers might think that those story-lines could go so that you can focus on the main story-line, but I think they are essential in making the story more "real" and the characters more believable.
Re: WIP Discussion (Part 1!)
If nothing else, I hope both the comic gets to the point (and I'm still interested, then) to where we at least know who fired on the Bellarmine. :-/
