I hadn't considered it until you mentioned it, but perhaps Tempo has been subtly trying to probe Alex's mind every single moment that she's been near him, including right now, and is starting to get frustrated.tpkc_klick wrote:It's also possible Tempo has, for the moment, given up on the psychic probes...

Are they prepared for Fireblade's mental snoring/PTSD nightmares?
Re: Page 161: It is called a Diral-Seii
Thing is, the only real approach at aggressive information gathering had been their mind probe. And, failing on their first attempt, they simply tried with added force, and, failing that, they seemed to be pretty out of ideas.
But, maybe Fireblade did notice something during Beryl's experiment, and, as a dutiful officer, reported to Tempo. And, both may have come to the conclusion that a gentler approach may be more successful than brute force... thus Fireblade's apparent silent curiosity and Tempo staying in the background, orchestrating the events.

They may assume that a hostile extraction attempt just strengthened his lotai with resolve.novius wrote:Thing is, the only real approach at aggressive information gathering had been their mind probe. Let's just hope they don't go the way of the Grays and switch to rectal probes.icekatze wrote:hi hi

He was unconscious long enough when they hauled him in and brought him to medbay.
On top of that, whatever lives in our intestines cannot be deadly to us, and may therefore form a good basis of synthesized food.
Maybe that is why whatever ration the Loroi gave Alexander was not very palatable...

If I recall correctly, we were told that the food they gave Alex was just parts of their standard rations which they thought might be compatible.
I do expect that they would have extensive data on his entire body, inside and out, well before he woke up.

"Here, Captain, we synthesised this food from whatever we pulled out of your ass"
sounds like a great start to a diplomatic relationship
