Doesn't work for me either. I'll take a look at it.

Re: The Forums are Restored.
The spoiler tag actually isn't a standard phpBB tag; it a custom tag that I found somewhere and added. I tried changing it to a different implementation, but that one doesn't work either. phpBB3.3 may have changed something that broke the tags. I'll try to find out more about it.
I think it probably needs some kind of special extension to make it work. For the moment, I've removed the current implementation, so at least the text can be read (it ignores the spoiler tag).

Re: The Forums are Restored.
I replaced it with a new version. It appears to work.
The format is as follows:

This is a spoiler!Show
The ending of Game of Thrones is terrible.

Thank You!Show
Works fine!
The Ur-Quan Masters finally gets a continuation of the story! Late backing possible, click link.
Re: The Forums are Restored.
phpBB has a set of skins (themes). Currently only this one seems to be installed, at least I haven't found a setting in the user control panel to change the skin. I fear somehng like a different theme will be low on the features request priory list.
Edit: to avoid double posting, I wanted to delete my post and merge the content ( by copy-pasting into an edited version of the previous post)
I could not delete my post, though, so I left it as it is.

Re: The Forums are Restored.
There's only one theme installed at the moment (prosilver), so there's no option to change. I will take a look at what themes are available.

Re: The Forums are Restored.
It looks like the new board is set to 10 posts per page. Wasn't 20 per page previously? Is this something I can change or is it set globally?
Re: The Forums are Restored.
A darker theme with an option to put the user profiles to the left of the post instead of the right would be deeply, deeply appreciated.

This is my Mod voice. If you see this in a thread, it means that the time for gentle reminders has passed.
Re: The Forums are Restored.
I seem to recall the number of posts per page being a user-configurable item, but I can't find it. I set the global setting to 20.
I added a dark style from the phpBB styles database; there are two color options. You can change styles under Board Preferences in the user control panel. I'm not sure I like the color settings in either of the two variants, but it does put the user profiles on the left. It will do for now.

Re: The Forums are Restored.
Thanks Arioch for the dark themes. Can't stand overly bright forums.
Re: The Forums are Restored.
I recently switched all my apps to dark mode (the ones that have them, anyway). It's much easier on the eyes, especially since I stare at screens all day.dragoongfa wrote: ↑Sat Jul 18, 2020 9:36 pmThanks Arioch for the dark themes. Can't stand overly bright forums.
I don't think the blue and red title text in this theme are readable enough, but they'll do until I can figure out how to edit the theme. Unfortunately, this one uses SASS, which I don't know anything about.

Re: The Forums are Restored.
Thankyou for restoring the forums and returning our community to us ... I know it would have been far more pain than pleasure.
Re: The Forums are Restored.
Show works perfectly on Chrome 83, Windows 10
Re: The Forums are Restored.
I rebuilt the search index again (this time, the correct one), and the results are working much better than before.
Re: The Forums are Restored.
But why?Sorry but searching for unread posts has been disabled on this board.
Re: The Forums are Restored.
Don't know; I don't see any setting for that. This new version has a lot of "features" that I don't see straightforward controls for.
That said, I can't imagine that there are a lot of posts with 0 views that are worth searching for. My guess is that the intent is to exclude posts made by bots that haven't yet been authorized (since this version requires that all new users' first post be manually validated by a moderator before it is viewable or searchable.
Where specifically did you see this particular error message?
Re: The Forums are Restored.
Hm, so I've tried searching "Stillstorm" again. As author I've entered "Arioch", forum to search is "Outsider".
Now I get no results, because Stillstorm is too common a phrase.

Re: The Forums are Restored.
Yeah, I was just looking at that setting. I'm going to disable it and rebuild the search index.
It will take 15-20 minutes or so.
edit: "Stillstorm" (Arioch) now returns 77 matches.
Thanks for these reports on the new forums... I don't know that a setting is wrong until someone trips over it.
Re: The Forums are Restored.
I have a stored link from previous version of forum to show all posts, that have entries, unread by me. And IIRC it worked previous week. It showed posts that have red button marked "unread" in tooltip.Arioch wrote: ↑Mon Aug 03, 2020 7:59 amThat said, I can't imagine that there are a lot of posts with 0 views that are worth searching for.
